well saturday was the day for this
so set off for Ant's place
with Lee (essexboy) in tow to help out
got to Ant's and he pretty much got stuck in right away

this was the exhaust before we got started
Image

a little bit of cutting
Image

soon it was cut and ready to take the pipes
Image

a little bit of welding
Image

Lee doing a little bit of grinding
Image

and the final product

vids coming soon

now this job was not without its problems (never is when it comes to my e30)
after the job was finished we dropped the roof
and set off on our journey home
got to Lee's house picked up his car and set off for mine
to give them both a clean for the lakeside meet
we got a minute from my door and I felt something funny in the steering
turned out while we were fitting the exhaust
the downpipe for the turbo had moved
and every now and then would touch the steering uj
and send a vibration right to my hands through the steering wheel

so we adjusted it and set off for lakeside

told Ant what had happened
and being the diamond gent he is he invited us down on sunday
to sort it out

so we got there sunday Ant warmed up the welder
Lee put on his working clothes
and I stuck the kettle on

so another bit of pipe and a little bit of welding
and a bang with a hammer and its all sorted now

many many thanks to Ant and Lee for their hard work and help with this
I would probably still be stuck under the car if I didnt have their help

and to top my weekend off my leccy aerial stopped working
so now its stopped halfway up

here are the vids

Before

After

Burble burble

Looks good, would have looked better and more 'factory' if the cut-out had curved sides.

Cheers,
