What is the best set of springs available for the is & what company can you recommend to supply them

I dont want to go really low maybe 30-35mm
I have had mixed views on lowering it as apparently it suffers from bump steer if you go too low ie 40mm & over?

Anyone done this job already & can tell me otherwise?
I am going to be tracking the car this year so there not just for cosmetic purposes

I know I know, I should use shortened dampers-but er indoors wont let me spend the money on the car

Certainly not telling you what to do fella but I once fitted some quality Eibach springs (30mm) to my old 16v Golf but kept the standard dampers.
It drove horribly after that. Really wallowy and unsettled.

Not saying it doesn't work as I don't have much experience but judging by that I'd never do one without the other again. I'd wait and save up...

my uncle who is a bmw specialist used eibach 30mm lowering springs, but he also used koni adjustable dampers on his iS. the ride is transformed for the better!

if you put on just the springs you won't be happy at all, bcos u need a good set of uprated dampers to work together with your new springs...

save up, and buy the dampers aswell.

but to answer your ques, yes, eibach are the best, second is H&R springs. 30mm is the optimal lowering rate, but I'm gona push mine to 35mm, so it LOOKS like it's been lowered and to give it a good stance! 40mm will produce negative camber, car looks nicer to the eye, but prepare for all the probs too! like tyre wear & if used daily u cant hack it down rough roads or bumps like im sure u do now!

I have a set of Yellow Koni Adjsutable Shocks, coupled with some Eibach 35-40mm springs. These have been on my car for a while now. Definate improvement.

I have a question related to this matter which someone might be able to help me with.
My recent acquisition has been lowered (in Japan some time ago before it was exported) and the only ID on the original box of bits is Cobra Netherlands part#001446. The original springs are in this box, they look fairly new, so I guess the mods' been done some time ago. (91' MTec 325iS).
My questions are:
Is this kit known? if so is it any good?
How do get my headlights back to half decent spec' now? I think the previous owner dove in daylight only as on low beam I can barely see 10 foot in front of the car - high beam is brilliant but I blind oncoming traffic of course. My car has the now screwed up headlight adjusting mechanism which I do not intend to rebuild. I have tried simple adjustments but maybe in my ignorance maybe I am missing something so I thought I had better ask.
Do I strip the front lights right down and start from scratch ? I have seen the adjustment procedure on E34.net and I could have a go at that I suppose.
