front towing eye location?

just after purchasing first e30 318is. car over heating, think it could be the head gasket. just wondering is there a front towing eye and where abouts is it

There is a little, square plastic cover in the black bump strip, behind which is the threaded socket for the towing eye you, hopefully, have in your tool kit.

drivers side front bumper
should be a small plastic cap
if your lucky the screw in tow hooks in the boot
if your unlucky its not and your fecked
also the thread that the tow hook goes in could well be rotten
hopefully not if your lucky

I think you will find there is a little square cover in the black trim in your bumper.You pull this off and then there is a hook in your boot that you screw into the thread behind the cover.This is if my memory is correct as mine was written off 4 years ago.

careful when you're towing, a few jerks off centre and you can have a towing eye at a jaunty angle....
