Hi all,

I am looking at buying my first E30 & I fancy getting a Motorsport Convertible. I`ve noticed that HILLINGDON MOTOR COMPANY have one for sale.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-325i-MOTORSPO ... dZViewItem

From the pics the car looks great & the mileage is low.

Before I decide to make a trip to Uxbridge, I was wondering if anyone know anything about the dealer or car that I should be aware of.

Ok this dealer has feedback from selling cars by auction, but you should know that classified ads are not subject to feedback, so we don't know how many good or bad sales have gone through withought feedback being left.

Unfortunatly now ebay is a sellers market and is cack. Buyers beware.

As for this seller, two complaints about MOT's in very few sales.......

If the car is what it says, that's good money for it. Take on board peoples complaints and go look at it. Be aware of potential issues, such as MOT and go over the car with a fine toothed combe. The sport buyers guide on here will be helpful.

Take a mechanic if you can or a zone egg head, there's plenty here. Perhaps pay for an AA inspection on it.

I'd pay extra attention to the roof, it's a power hood. Treacherous piece of kit. Allegedly has new motors fitted. I'd want to see it opening and closing a number of times. Check for wind noise at speed, you'll see if it's fitted right. Look for signs of damp. Smell the car!!! I noticed in their warranty there's an extra section available for power hoods, seems a little convenient but could just be my skeptical mind!!!

Ah these chaps are a bunch of T@ssers. Ages ago went to see a silver sport, it had soaking wet carpets, the engine was running when i got there with the heater on full wack, there was a straight shut line from the doors onwards, its paint was worse than a drunk man with a spray gun. And they had the gaul to say it was near mint.

Personally i wouldnt bother with those guys. Hooky springs to mind. But each and to their own.
