You see them about, but the majority of e30's seem to have a sunroof. I'm looking for a 3dr without a sunroof for a track car if you are looking to sell?

Wasn't no sunroof the norm when an E30 came with aircon?

I used to have a 316 without a sunroof, really liked the no sunroof look. Wish the tourer didnt have one, proably only opened twice in 4 years.

Lot of weight saved by not having a sunroof

Does it help with shell rigidity in the 3 series aswell?

I know on pug 205's the track guys are always looking for non-sunroof shells because they are more rigid.

Sounds like i'm glad i've not got a sunroof now, lol

har har

don't think it helps a lot in a tourer, what with all the doors and tailgate

most if not all cars here have sunroof and A/C except my Mk1 sport

my uk car had sunroof and it was open rain or shine on most journeys (which probably accounted for the rust), loved it for motorway, one of the quietest sunroofs i have ever come across, my current landcruiser is so noisy with sunroof open its unbearable

No sunroof was the main reason I chose my latest E30, nothing but grief IMO.

Although it is a 4 door :clin:

How do they give grief? Rust is only thing i can think of! Or do they go wrong a lot?

Leaky seals, rusty mechanisms, blocked drains, rusty sills, wet feet, wet head, damp headlining, rusty sun roof panels, more rust.

I just cant be bothered with them anymore. Id sooner spend the time grafting a whole roof in :D

Sweet...love aussie weather...never heard of a rusty roof down here! In some cars having a sunroof means a more rigit shell...

Love my sunroof ;-)

i like the fact i have a sunroof as i can ventilate the car without getting draught and noise thru the windows, which is handy if i wanna play my music a bit loud(ish) without looking a cock if im in town or stuck in traffic. there's nothing worse than some wanker playing music u hate when ur stuck in traffic and u can hear it as loud as they can
