Yes indeed they were , albeit very rare. I suppose if you couldn't afford an angine, you were unlikely to stretch to the £1500 leather option !

AFAIK, pretty much everything was an option on anything. For instance, if you wanted a 4-door 318i with full recaro leather, electric everything, 4.1 LSD, M-Tech suspension and 15" BBSs, you could have it.
Would have cost a bit, though

Yes it was. I have them (Black Leather) as original in my Lazurblau IS.

i sold the leather reacros from my 318IS thinking they weren't original (i hate leather seats), bugger!, £550 notes softened the blow though!
given that the car only has 14" bbs and no sunroof i reckon it was a poverty option car and the leathers were added later, i've got cloth lux seats in now as the recaros squash my fat arse too much

Is it a ringer?
If you have a non-sunroof iS, there pretty rare too, mine and my brothers iS both have sunroofs. I had the 6 button obc as an option on mine, my brother had the analogue clock...just an example.
Mine didn't have the badge either....
