Green.

All the leather bits inside have gone green

i cover the cab with a breathable and waterproof cover.

why is it going green and what can i do to stop it?

please please help.

Green as in algae (sp?) or has the leather changed colour?

I know Ziggy's leather was a nice shade of green when he bought it, something to do with it being treated in the past??? Ziggy will know... he re-dyed his leather to cure the problem.

no green as in algae, you can wipe the light bits of with your finger but the other bits are bloody covered in the green stuff.

Clean it all, maybe use gliptone.

Then dry it all thourghly. Is it kept in a damp area?

well its on a driveway, none of the other cars suffer this but then this is the only cab on the drive way.

Its damp. Try a big container of silica gell to absorb the moisture after you have cleaned it all off and treat it with a greasy conditioner

what do you mean by a 'greasy' conditioner?

its best to buy a de-humidifyer and use that int he car once a week, problem solved

so the problem is dampness right?

why does it only affect the cab and not the tin tops.

p.s. im not the brighest bulb

maybe you cover doesn't let the interior breathe ..do you leave a window open a bit to let the air circulate ..
the cheapest greasy conditioner is neatsfoot oil

i shall leave the windows open slighty and see if that helps

What cover u using???

If u dont drive the cab often just take the seats out and put them in the lounge, u know u want to

Any leather stuff (gearknobs, steering wheels etc) that I leave in the garage (damp) goes the same way - dry your car out well before you put the cover on & I reckon you'll be fine.

B&Q sell moss/mould remover; spray it on, rinse it off - just under £3 a bottle.

Do be careful with what you buy, though, as they often contain bleaching agents.

Mine was so bad that I had no choice but to leave it to the experts.

They stripped the entire interior, stripped the seats down and treated all the leather and then put it all back together again. It took two of them three whole days !
