Front wing fitting

Hi, I am new to the forum, but I am a regular on e36coupe.com (user name Mark) and as ever I suppose most of the people find their way onto forums like this because they have a problem.

Mine is that I had a knock on the door, when I opened it I found my neighbour who stated he thought he had hit my car, one quick look and I realised he was not mistaken. He is a nice chap and I want to keep the cost down, I have sourced a wing and plan to fit it myself, but I wanted to just see if there was a fitting guide anywhere, I have googled and done a quick search on here which hasn't turned up anything. Now I know my way around my e36, but the e30 I am not so familiar with. Does anyone have or know about a quick guide that would able to just give me an idea, I don't want to remove things if I don't have to.

Any help or advice would be appreciated guys TIA :)

Hi mate,

There was a post on removing them quite recently:

http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... light=wing

Refitting should be the reverse of removal!!!! Or something like that!!!

Cheers for that, but when I click on links to forum threads it tells me its a restricted area.

Mine does that quite often with links like that - try logging off the zone and logging in again, then click it!!

If your pc just stays logged into the zone all the time, it doesn't like stuff like this for some reason!!!

Basically says

Remove:
Front bumper (2x T55 or 10mm bolts underneath)
Plastic arch liner (various 8mm screws)
Headlight surround grille (2x phillips screws and 3x clips)
Bumper support bracket (1 of 2x 10mm screws
Row of 8mm screws along top edge
2x screws below 'smiley' light unit (lower one is allen key - 4mm?)
2x 10mm screws inside wing, at door shut end
an 8mm screw at the bottom of the arch, at the sill

If you start taking bits off, it should be pretty obvious what's wtill holding it on!!!!
I'll be having a go at this next week probably, on the touring i'm breaking!!

Problem with "restricted zone" is the link...

If you change the link from www.e30zone.CO.UK/...... to www.e30zone.NET/..... it will then work.

Hope this helps

I have a similar problem, although mine is required due to a nice bit of rot on the outside of the panel. Am I right in understanding that if I buy the right colour panel, all I will require is (1) the sealant for the panel, and (2) any replacement fixings which may be appropriate?
