Found out on Sat that my heater matrix has been by-passed so I'll need to have this looked into when the car comes out of the bodyshop
Is a new heater matrix expensive/is it a difficult fix?
Cheers all

It's a dash out job. The fan motor sits on top looking from the bulk head, But the entire heater system has to come out the change the matrix.
I also a good point to clean out the 10 to 20 years of dust in the vent system also.

is it really a dash out job?
would centre consoles/glovebox removed not give suffiecient access?

Remove glovebox, then remove brake pedal booster, matrix just slides out pretty much..
First time I did it (getting matrix from scrap car) I took the dash out and took fookin ages!

This would be suffienient, It all depends on how confident you are at pulling things apart.
At the same time the dash is out you can check for the dreaded rust,
But hay thats me...
