Envy is a terrible thing

Some little toe rag has given my car a thump in each major panel. That's the second time this has happened. Considering that the car was only worth a grand or so, it makes me grind me teeth with rage. Just give me a minute with the little git.
The body was uterly perfect too, apart from some rust at the arches. Luckily I hadn't spent the money on them yet.
Is it worth claiming on insurance to get it fixed, or should I just break it?

Sorry to hear that.....
What a pain in the arse.
Depends how it'll affect your no claims. Might be that it could be written off?
What model is it?

It's a white 4 door 325iSE. My pride and joy.
I suppose I could claim and it might be written off. Then maybe they'd let me buy the wreck, as the engine is so smooth and fast.

Sorry to hear about this
As BIGMRLEE says the only way is to get a camera trained on your car or bag yourself a garage and keep your car in it at all times like I'm now forced to do
I'd say claim on the insurance....as long as you could buy it back from them

youd need to have a think about how much no claims bonus you'd lose before claiming. an option is to find somone elling a non runner the with good bodywork same colour, and swap bits over. its a long shot though

Could always run em over....if you can do it in reverse you're pretty much guaranteed a kill, plus no damage to your car either
Think I might try this one out

You need to think about the consequences of making a claim. Do you lose ur no claims bonus? Having a claim will affect your premiums for the next 3-5 years. Are you guaranteed the 1k if you do claim?
What reg is your car, as i have a bonnet, 3 doors, and a wing in alpine white (early cars - not alpine white 2) we can do a deal on if you need them.
Otherwise, how about the dent remover people.

Thanks everyone,
It helps to have your good wishes.
Quaser, it was me who bought the door off you last summer when somebody did this before. It's still in the shed! I'll let you know.
I have thought of buying up bits from broken-up cars. There seems to be lots being broken at the moment. Doesn't help the roof and rear wings though, they'd have to be knocked out.
The worst thing is, the car was just coming right, with all the little jobs finished. The wife was actually deigning to be seen in it. She is of the school that thinks we should have a new car, instead of 'that old thing'.
You can't live with them, you can't live with them.
Oh well.
