Eh?? are you asking for an answer or to see if we know about M20's??
there is no dreaded overheating problem provided: coolant water is in the system, the air is bled out, the viscous clutch on the fan works, the water pump is working and the thermostat has no been removed, and the hoses are all good. plus check for blocked/furred up radiator (i never touch a car with brown water = means they ran tap water instead of coolant = knackered and corroded waterways) and last but not least ensure the correct cap is on the expansion chamber.
Been driving E30's for 13 years, the last five in a country where the summer temp is in excess of 50C and never had a car overheat for no reason.

Lee, where is the car originally from then, is it Bharain?
I see its a left hooker so guessing not the UK, unless it had been imported here first, then you or someone else imported it to Bharain?
Lovely looking motor m8, but i prefer it wearing the BBS, each to their own i guess
Hope fully the car will have not suffered from any harsh european winters, and will be mint underneath

Which is the 325i Sport engine? Do you mean any M20?
I didn't know there was a known issue with the M20 over any other internal combustion engine
1) the coolant
2) the coolant
3) the coolant
why? because BMW (and common sense) tell you to...
and when you change the cambelt, change the waterpump at the same time, just to be on the safe side

car is made by BMW Japan and has now done 95000km, yes fortunately underneath is mint (well road dirt but no rust) as is the body, i bought it from Dubai and drove it accross Saudi Arabia the next day to Bahrain, and have had it for four years now, i had a nice Mk1 sport 1986 too which was also mint with only 110000km on the clock but sold that to a mate when i bought the Z3 coupe.
-Mods sorry to hijack this thread but i did send a lengthy pm to the originator at his request explaining the ins and outs of the water cooling system on a M20 and what to look for!!
