So what do you do with your E30?

Do you covet it and only bring out on days when the sun is shining, use it every day or perhaps just as a track slag?
Be interested to see the different uses they get across the board.
Mine, now she isn't p1ssing fluids out has been put back to work to earn her keep!
Mine gets used everday, normally by the missus for knocking about in during the week and by me at the weekend for abusing Transit style!
Here she was today, hauling two apple trees and other garden detrious to the local tip.

my cabby only used between November and April during our convertable season, and then only if there is 0% chance of rain (which is quite often here!). During the extreamly hot summer months i take it out (roof up) about once a month to give it a run about, mainly to avoid gas loss from the AC.
My 1986 Mk 1 sport minter was used as daily driver by my wife for two years without an issue (except for brakes and fluids etc) and now has been sold to a Scouser mate (better i sold it before he nicked it

) who also uses it daily rain or shine (and our shine can see 50C+).
but i have a company car for my main use.

Mine gets thrashed across Salibury plain from Andover to Warminster on a daily basis the other one hasn't moved under its own steam for two and a half years.

Mine just gets used when i need to drive. So it did 20k in the year iv had it which is very little for me. Its at home now and im down at college therefore it only gets used when im at home so hopefully the mileage will slow down. Iv take to looking after it and washing it around 4 times a week and always chammying it everytime i wash it etc etc.lol.

my sport gets a damn good spanking on a daily basis
and the auto gets the same if i can bare to be parted from the sport for long enough
sports gonna get a small rest sometime soon but only so i can sort a 2.7 out

i never buy cars to look at or lock away

Quote "so what do you do with your e30"
That's an easy one for me to answer, I mainly kick it as I walk past it.

Both of my cars are used daily for work. One is doing over 300 miles a week and the other is doing about 20 miles a week so I may have to swap them over the winter to even out the use!

Andover here for me too.
Mine was driven for 2 months before being sent to a friend to build it into a track car. In March it will go to Germany and live 200 yards from the entrance to the Nurburgring.

I've got two E30s at the moment, Rhubarb and Custard.
By day Rhubarb ferries me to and from uni, by night I deliver pizzas in it!
Although at the moment it's so rickety I've been getting the bus to uni, and and taking it very easy on the pizza patrol - still trying to track down a strange knocking noise from under the car.
Custard is the dodgy yellow convertible that has no real purpose except getting on my neighbours' nerves. Started breaking it this weekend. Had a mixed day getting the interior out - on the upside I discovered that the leather sports interior is heated too, just hadn't been connected up. On the downside one of the bolts holding in the rear bench back is totally wrecked, gonna have to drill it out!

still no got that knocking sound sorted dude?

Re:

Nope - it's doing my head in. It must be something loose under the car as it happens only at certain revs, or when i'm driving down a cobbled street. Replaced the engine mounts during the week as they were completely rotten, hoped that was going to make a difference, but no change.
Rubbish thing is, I can pretty much guarantee that whatever it is, it's probably my own fault. I'm starting to suspect that when I took the gearbox and propshaft off to change the clutch I might not have put it all back together properly.
Might just bite the bullet and take it to a garage and let them track it down. Don't really have time at the moment to do it myself, it's exam time at uni, and even when I get an afternoon off to work on the car, I still have to be sure that it'll be back in one peice by 5.30 for work!

mine is purely a toy, i dont need a car as I have a van for work which is fully paid for..
although I use the car because it's so much better to drive and handles so well and got some nice bird pullers on it too.
tbh i just go and see mates in it and make it look pretty lol

Same here my sport is a bit of a toy, i drive a van for work and the e30 mainly only gets used at weekends.
Had her 3.5 years now and this year ive been slowly getting bits upgraded for track use although it will still be used as a road car when its finnished.
I still clock up 8-10k per year in her, just wish i had a garage to keep it out of the elements during the week.
Hopefully there will be a 2.7 in there for xmas
