not sure of the part numbers for the 3 bits neil.it shows them on the diagram but doesnt list them at all.ill give them a phone in the morning but thanks for the offer anyway.the 3 parts are still sodden with oil after forgetting to put the oil filler cap back after topping it up a couple of months ago and its slowly dripping out and spraying back over my engine bay, doesnt look good on my freshly painted white rocker cover

The 3 piece foam type is still available, and it's about £30.

is it that nice black ridged quite solid heat proof foam?
the 'is' has it and it looks really well.
the 320i has some scabby old cream stuff and looks awful - didnt realise it was available at all....
can generic foam be cut to size for the job?

Could it not be cleaned with a power washer if you took the bonnet off?

probably could but the oil was soaked right through the sponge, ive powerwashed it in place before but it hasnt removed all the oil and it keeps gathering at the lowest point, dripping and spraying back over the engine.

My bonnet paint has started to discolour because theres an area of sponge that is missing from the underside of the bonnet... Glad to see its not as expensive as i thought to replace it!

I fitted a new set for my old 320 a few months back, bought from the local dealer - my current one fell loose so a bit of carpet tile spary soon sorted the problem

BTW - be careful when sticking on the new foam, the sticky side is proper stuff !

the soundproofing i bought from the main dealer was self adhesive .

As above - self adhesive - comes as one big piece, you just peel off each of the 3 sections and stick on, couldn't be simpler
