its not just the bad spelling that bugs me, its the text talk with stupid abbreviations that might be quicker to type but takes 3 times as long to read because i cant work out what they are trying to say

or maybe thats just because im getting old

Stuart, you might want to start your sentences with a CAPITAL letter.
Coz isn't in the OED.
And grammer (grammar) is a what I used to call my grandma when I was 3.
Pots & kettles etc.

I hadn't realised Firefox 2.0 had been released & have only just installed it. Rare to actually notice genuine improvements to an already good product!

oh, so it replaces Microsoft Internet Explorer then? will i use any decent features if i replace IE with Firefox?

Firefox and Thunderbird replaces and completely outclasses IE and outlook, which both suck heavily, and IE has held the internet back 10 years as Microsoft panicked and stopped development when the windows base looked like becoming non essential.
http://www.mozilla.org/
A (big) hidden benefit of Firefox and Thunderbird is that you can run them both on Linux and Apple too, so you can get used to them on your rubbish microso$t dinosaur and when you buy a real computer (Apple Macs make Windows Vista look like a very very poor second) you can use firefox and thunderbird just as before. The Opera browser also does this. IE only runs on Windows 'coz that's the only choice Microsoft want you to have.
Apple sometimes seem more expensive until you count the cost of your spambot PC with unknown (and largely undetectable) keyloggers and trojans, then they seem a whole lot cheaper ;).
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10/26 ... or_profit/
If you just count the supplied software like grapher and preview (Preview is possibly the 'worlds most useful program' and is part of Mac OS/X), with the ability to download free NeoOffice (that blows away microsoft office) and print to PDF from everything Apples suddenly seem much much cheaper!! All programs co-existing because the OS provider isn't always trying to muscle them out the the market (Microsoft vs Netscape etc.) is also a pleasant change with drag and drop etc all working seemlessly, support for NFS, X windows, free IDE etc.
Now all we need is a spell checker for Windows users than can tell the difference between loose and lose...
So todays lesson is folks: Dump Windows before it bites you.

^Whoa!
I was just gonna say its basically a safer browser than IE, and is customisable in look/feel... But that respose is much better!!
