hi guys just thought i would find out everyones tastes

what do you prefer original or mod??

myself i prefer to try and keep my cars as original as possible

i prefer keeping close to original in the looks department but seriously modifying the workings for the street sleeper look

Entirely depend on the car and my mood.

I've had an original 325i that I loved standard, but then I bought a 325i sport that was lowered, tinted lights and black grill and I love that too, it looks so mean. I think every car has a personality. And I like my cars to look 'right'.

I do like sleepers too but never owned such a machine, some cars ust don't look right standard, and mst cars could do with at least lowering the stance a bit.

a nice mix of both is always good imo

tbh as much as i like mine to be standard i do like the sound of your sport

i can handle subtle tweaks its just when people take it a little too far

original, engine swaps are cool, m20 for m20 and so on. or you could go mad and drop in the s50b30/32... but keep em looking original!!!!!!!

Original appearence but with an engine conversion is just too cool for school! sleepers rock!
Sometimes a car may warrant lowering, but in my opinion, the body should never sit lower than the top of the tyre, i think that looks wrong, but is just my opinion of course!

Subtle mods, Nothing council, No after market bodykits or lexus lights. I think a factory kit and lowered suspension, and nice set of wheels looks good.

i agree. only on a lexus do clear lights look right

keeping the car looking how it might have looked had the manufacturer had slightly bigger balls.

subtle mods which enhance what the car is rather than trying to make it look like something else. big bodykits and lots of stick on tat are a big no no. yet i dont think theres a single car thats ever been built that can't be improved (in my eyes) in some way.

i agree with that,only the truely blinkered can believe that any car built by a manufacturer to design and budget restrictions can be as good as it can possibley be

Modding to improve is ok but it needs to really improve many mods end up "improving" at a cost cams which ruin the idle spring to mind. Purely cosmetic mods usually end up making the car look worse eg big modern alloys. The moral is be careful what you do and only fit products that are of OE quality and genuinely enhance the car.

Well, mostly....I think. I'm gonna put clear front/side lenses on my SPORT, but that is about it. But, the SPORT looks great with the kit, wheels etc anyway.

Sometimes when you start to mod you can't stop!! most of us have been guilty of this over the years, come on own up
The danger is to go too far, easy to cross the line IMHO.

BMW's look great as they are - others mod up their heaps to COPY the ultimate driving machine (M3 mirrors on FORDS?!??!?) YUK YUK

Bang on, OEM + is the way forward imo.

Original, or use original BMW parts for mods, as long as you dont go to "halfrauds" and spend a couple of months wages on a pile of 'Chav shite and 10 tubes of superglue to stick it on your motor!

Sleeper for me, Original looks but a beast under the skin though keeping all parts OEM or as close to possible

Gotta be original,dont mind a few minor mods thou,but alot depends on the car as if it were a mint very low miles M3 it would be stayin as it came from factory ,but i can see the attraction of a nice big engine in a touring

I'm a bit inbetween, i don't mind mods as long as they're subtle and done tastefully

Half and half i suppose but more original. I like to think my E30 is pretty original. Only mods ive made are clear front lights, clear side repeaters, crystal/clear lights, but it looks decent, if i do say so myself and not OTT.

Bit of Both. Subtle modding. Tastfullly appointed.

like most have said,original but with tastefull(sp?) mods

clear front and side indicators,all red rears,smoked fronts, some lowering and a sweet sounding exhaust

personally i`d have brows,although i know some people dont agree and think its a bit chavvy

i think thats as far as an e30 would need to go.

Nice mix of both.....but a stripped out m3 with big power and bucket seats is always a winner.lol. really depends what mood your in.

But i reckon its a pretty much standard car with subtle modifications and lots of tuning and suspension work.

i'd go for modding only because mine is modded. Not a fan of bog standard but if it has an Mtech kit on then it looks cool.

i like modifying cars but keeping them seemingly original! i've tried to keep my 335i as close as possible to how BMW would have made it. the giveaways like the electric fan, moved washer bottle etc actually bug me a little!

any modifications i make are generally in the interest of performance only and i will rarely touch anything for 'better' looks.

mine is pretty sleeper style not too much though. the giveaways are the 16" alloys, lowering and stainless exhaust. that's it other than the hollow snarling exhaust note
