18" Alpina reps for the E30 PICS NOW ADDED

OK, i know it's a link for Ebay, but has anyone heard of the BK Racing 171 being available in 18" for the E30.
I am very tempted as i thought my previous 17" could have been just a tad bigger in the arches.
Any knowledge of these wheels.
Seems a decent price for 18" with tyres too, considering postage is included.

Dont know the answer to your question, but the wheels look really neat, and yes they do seem very cheap for 18's with tyres too.
Go for it dude

i also thought the 17" alpinas looked a bit small and wanted 18" alpinas.I didn't know they were available.
I have heard that the bk 171 can crack if bashed none too hard thats why i went for a different manufacturer for mine.
I think they are a bit on the cheap side but bk's are cheap any way and it doesn't say what tyres. High performance;probably stunners or some crap !!
I want some 18"s also but i think im going to go for some thing different this time.

The tyres shown on the ad are Nankang NS-2. Best i've seen is Ԛ£66 each delivered (then plus fitting etc. yourself). So he's basically selling the alloys only for just under Ԛ£400 delivered.
As a package incl. tyres fitted/balanced/delivered it seems extremely good.
I have asked him a load of questions, i'll post the answers when i get them.

Had some replies, here goes:-
"They are BK RACING.
The wheels are multi-drill 8x100/108 et20.....so they will also fit some Peugoets+Escort Cosworth.
All fitting kit is included. (bolts and centralising rings)
The tyres fitted will be NANKANG NS-2 Ultra Sport 215/35/18, can fit different makes at extra cost.
I believe the rear only needs the lip rolling. Whereas the fronts require the liner to be adjusted for lock to lock."

these wheels are shite men!! my m8s got a set of these in the 17s and has cracked 3 wheels and one hes had to take off as its that twatted the biggest pile of shit i have ever seen bk171 are and all the other fake alpinas shame though as it gives the real alpinas a bad name as everyone seems to go round calling them alpinas! dont do fake !!!it will end in

Hmmmm.......I'm sure those tyres are too skinny 215's on an 8" wide wheel???? The wheel will stick out each side of the tyre. Like they used to on my 8x18 rims. Im now running 225's and theyre soooo much better!!

I think the 'BK Racing bashing' is a bit unnecessary.
They make mass produced cheap alloys, simple as that. They pass TUV, which means they confirm to a widely recognised safety regulation.
They don't pretend to be genuine Alpina's, and anyone that can't tell em apart from the real deal doesn't deserve to own genuine Alpina's.
They're more than adequate for a general purpose road car IMO.
There's a lot of replica hatred on this site, and although i agree a genuine set of wheels are better quality, and better looking, i don't think it's really necessary.
I'm not having a go at the other people that have posted in this thread, but the 'replica's are sh*t' comments are getting a bit tedious.
ps. i think 215's on 8's look nice, but thats just my opinion ;)

I've got a set of AP Racing Alpina replicas. I had them fitted to the Sport, and found them to vibrate at speeds of over 75mph. Of course, this is not good for motorway driving. So I swapped them over to my track car and put my standard 15" BBS's back on. What a difference. The BBS's drive so much nicer. Funny thing is though, the Alpina reps don't vibrate on the track car. Strange.
I LOVE the look of the Alpina reps though. Best looking wheel for the E30 in my opinion. REAL Alpinas just aren't big enough.

Wow, your car looks the nuts Giles, nice work dude.
I agree about the 15" BBS's 'driving nicer', but thats not because the reps are badly designed or manufactured, it's simply a product of reduced unsprung weight.
Imagine how nice an E30 would feel to drive if it had a decent set of forged 15's fitted instead of the (relatively) heavy BBS's!

I have nothing against replica rims at all.......Im running M parallel reps, just couldnt justify the Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ BMW wanted for a genuine set!
Geeman ya cars looking lovely mate.....especially the rims!! Can I ask why ya towing eye is in though?

You have to have it ready for the marshalls to tow you out if you get stuck in the catty litter... God forbid.

It's purely a track car. Reg plate is on it as I 'secretly' took it to get an exhaust fitted. Normally it never goes on the road...

Thats a very nice track car youve got there mate........What made ya choose the Alp reps for the track then? I would have thought some 15" bbs' would have been the chosen rim??

I've swapped them round with my Sport. I have actually got some dedicated track wheels and tyres, but they're in the garage in storage ATM...

gotta correct you there Kevs...
some manufacturers state that 225 45 can be used for 8.5 to 9inch wide......thats for a 17 so i assume its the same for 18!

Well finally bought these BK 171 8 x 18" Alpina reps in 4x100 pcd and fitted them.
Absolutely stunning, great ride too and no rubbing with mtech setup.
Fill the arches superb, a lot better than the 17" i used to have.
NO WOBBLES neither, even at all speeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will post a couple of pics tomorrow.
Right considering selling the BBS i just refinished, what do you reckon i'll get for them with the part worn tyres fitted.
5 rims available all refinished with grey centres and silver lips. No marks at all.
As motorsport style but a little lighter grey as i found the nogaro a little too dark.

my 17 used to vibrate but the 18 have come with some heavy duty spigot rings. Tested them up to 100 (private road obviously) no probs at all.
Car only does around 500-1000 miles a year so they ain't getting hammered.

Andy,

Total wrongness.
Send him back to Birmingham empty handed.
Give him your Alpina's instead.
Can I pull your 'p8nts down and sh8ft you on your Hardtop'.
To complete your day!!!.
First dibs on the hardtop when you decide to sell it cheap.!!
Cheers Gareth.
