Does this make me a Zone Chav?:
I went to Mean Street cruise on Saturday (Arena Essex, Thurrock) and thought id enter the car for best dressed.
Anyway, I only won Best 1986-1990

 and got a trophy!
I know the winning isnt a chav thing, but more where I won it.
BTW, I dont care about being a chav (neons are going on next

 ) but I just wondered.

NO as you stripped it out for the track and not added neons and a 20" bass box etc...

fitting a loud exhaust to a stupidly underpowered car is and always has been called being a 'teenager', rebelling against authority
chav is adding a chrome tailpipe

I had one of those
top TOP car... but I had to ragg it from the Alps back to the UK once upon a time, took me about 29 minutes and it was never on oil pressure again.
It was rusty when I bought it at 3 years old; weighed the same as a water-biscuit, and had the ralliest seats ever seen outside of a rally car; the number of girls who said 'ouch' as they caught the solid seat bolsters as they jumped in still brings a smile to my face

yer seats were cool, stuck mine into 2nd at 120+ mph mashed up the gear box engine survived

				no way
the gearbox was a special ZF competition box - it could not be destroyed... whereas the engine was built by italians.......
the gearlever did have a kind of boingy rubber jokeness to it, so I can see how you easily made your error

oh - apologies for whoring your thread Stevie

i think i might have to tell ian he's a chav!!

the first car he owned was a VOLVO 440.

he put a 5 inch backbox on it a nd a 15 inch subwoofer and big amplifier in the back!!!
he then grew up a bit and bought a ford sierra that was lowered and had a free flow exhaust that was fooking loud which also had 4inch tailpipe. with white alloys. which he transplanted the amplifier and subwoofer into!!
THEN......
we made him grow up when we (mainly Claire really) bought the 316! but because he's driving around in it he's transplanted the sub and amp over again!!!!
he's now changed over the wheels and in the motion to put another exhaust on the beemer.
CHAV OR NOT?????

Unfortunately Ben you aren't the only one with a challenged sense of aesthetics , while 3 spokes were never cool, they were very popular. I remember having to go for an extended roadtest in a customers E34 with 3 spokes , he also had some diy tints , and them beaded seat covers

. I have no shame but even i was embarrassed. Luckily my route took in stonebridge park, wembley and alperton where such a chariot would be considered desireable
