no insurance, most insurance companies won't insure your car if its a race car unless you go through a company that does and it wouldnt be cheap

as for suspension i run the J-Stock kit from Turner Motorsports and love it. If you want something a little cheaper you can go with H&R race springs and Bilstein Sports with Suspension Technique sways.

D2 does make some nice coilovers for the e30 but I would only put coilovers in the front since the e30 was setup with the seperate spring and shock in the rear.

also I have a full custom 8 point roll cage in the car.

for a budget I think I have put about 4,000USD into just the suspension and cage, hope this helps

yes that is a good place to start, if its going to be a track car only take out the entire interior including all the sound deadening

when i finally got all my sound deadening out i think it was close to 60lbs.

I reckon you could easy get a trackday e30 for 2k. Most expensive thing would be stuf like the cage. Making it lighter would be free. And stick with 15" wheels.

Look on fleabay for a car, i've not long got a 325i se on a "H" plate for Ԛ£250, and that had 3mths MOT and tax on it, only bad probs was one headlamp was cracked, and the exhaust was blowing. Virtually no rust, a nice solid engine, what do you want for the price of 2 nights out on the lash?

Keep your eye out for something that may not appeal to someone who will want the car as an everyday driver, but won't matter for track use. The car i got had no carpet in, and the cracked headlamp, so it didn't really attract much interest whereas i would have ripped the carpet out anyway so saved me a job!! Also, it came with a Zone chip, mtech 2 steering wheel and 5 x 15"bbs's with centre caps so i can sell much of the stuff on to make the car even cheaper. Keep a look out mate and don't rush in, theres bargains to be had out there.

Good Luck
