Hi peeps just got back form testing station and i have in my hand my new pass certificate :woohoo::woohoo: this is the 3rd mot i have put on it now that it has gone straight through i am sooooooooo chuffed just a couple of advisorys this year :

1. Rear brake pipes slightly corroded (no probs just clean em up and grease em sorted)

2. Fuel pipes slightly corroded (same as above)

3. O/s front lower suspension arm slight play (i think he had that wrong though as both side quite new)

4. Slight play in rack (lol have had this advisory for the last 3 yrs same thing everytime this why i think he was wrong with the above advisory)

But who cares about advisorys it passed that all i care about this means no money has to be parted with :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
(as you can guess i am very happy..lol)

You're all lucky bas****ds!!

Just got back from having my touring tested..... I thought it might fail because there's a bit of rust around the jacking point. I wish!!

Its not good news I'm afraid: 8O
Front shock adsorbers leaking
Front drop link bush
Both rear springs incomplete (apparently theres a bit a the bottom broken off on both of them)
Rear brake pipes corroded....

Didn't notice the rusty jacking point though

I've had 2 quotes one for Ԛ£330+VAT, the other for Ԛ£350+VAT. Its going to be a lean month.

Unless anyone knows someone who'll do it cheaper arourd the Staines/Woking area 8) I'm starting to wonder when its time to stop fixing it and save the money for a replacement. What's a fairly decent 1990 325i touring worth without an MoT anyway or for that matter how much is it worth with an MoT?

springs are Ԛ£21 From GFS, and its fairly easy to fit them, just a case of undoing the 19mm bolt at the bottom of the shock absorber, and (supporting with A JACK) lower the trailing arm, slide it out and new one in.

as for the brakepipes-cnuts at last garage i took mine to told me I had corroded pipes, even though they were copper and new-so look for yourself

Have checked the brake pipes and they do look pretty crap. Thanks for the info on GSF prices - I might buy the parts and take the to the garage cos I think labour was only Ԛ£120 of the quote.

i've had a really good run recently...
1) 1998 406 turbo diesel, running on veg oil during mot... 2 tyres and then a pass! :D
2) 1992 E34 525i sport. pass with nothing at all wrong! :D
3) 1988 mitsubishi shogun (beast for towing my 335i to santa pod!) only needs a wiper blade! :D

i'm on a roll!

i've had 2 page failures on cars i've owned in the past!
