Looking at lowering my car either 40mm all round, or 60/40, not sure yet?
Seen this kit on Ebay, seems well cheap? Anyone fitted it?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sport-suspension- ... dZViewItem
Its not a track tool or pristine example, just a work horse, so not looking at spending a great deal.......!

				Buy a decent kit.
With very cheap kits like that you'll often find the shocks leak and the springs sag very quickly.
If your on a budget just get some H&R 35mm springs, they work extrememly well on E30's giving a nice ride.
If you want to spend more money then Bilstein Sport Damper with 35mm H&R Springs OR a 32mm H&R Cup Kit. These kit's are perfect for road use giving a nice ride and a practical ride height along with brilliant handling.
All of the above are available from the E30Zone Shop.

Ian - when you upgrade, send me your standard m-tech rear springs please

I'm having issues with my supposed -40 springs from H&R

I have a set of Eibach on mine, have been sweet since they've been on there, as an example. But i would agree with the rest of the guys and stay well away from the egay shite.
Having said that, go to the e30zone shop, they've got plenty of stuff and it's gauranteed to be top notch as Sal don't do things by halves!!
Your 318is looks sweet bud, more than just a work horse!! I see it's got the se side skirts too, just like mine when i got it, you don't see that many with those skirts on..

				Thanks Pal.
Paulsimon8 - if you have a problem with the H&R and if you got them from us just contact me.
Totally agreed with Argos on this, Bilstein springs are not very good. The GSF ones I don't like though as they are way too soft.
H&R and Eibach both very good, H&R the better of the two though.
Taxin - We used to sell Spax but found the quality to be no where near as good as H&R, Bilstein and Koni. Springs are especially too soft and have been know to fracture.
I'll say this again as I've said before many times - if we find a product has issues and is no good we remove it from the shop. If someone insists on purchasing it even after our advice then that's upto them.

Looking into it at the moment along with KW.
Not heard anything about them. Before offering them we will get a set in and fit it to a car and see how it goes.
As far as how long they last - we'll just have to see.
Very cheap and yes they do cover the majority of the E30 range.
What worries me is that is a little too cheap and I can pretty much guarantee corners have been cut.

				Thanks for the advice guys!

Tha springs that are for sale in the shop, are they compatable with standard shockers?
Although while the shocks are out I wouldnt mind replacing them.

being in the same boat i wanted the H&R springs but just the fact that they are more than twice the price for the touring puts me off big time. can the 2 rear springs really be worth £110 more than standard E30 rear springs?

IMHO they do look the part, just looks sleaker.
I have the mud flaps too, but the front ones are broken at the moment (kinda low on the front

) ordered a new set from the stealers, £30 a set, but they sent the wrong ones...fookin useless, hope they get the right ones next time, for that sort of extortionate rate

I wouldn't say its a problem with the product, its a problem with the muppet who specced them, IE - me

I ordered the wrong ones and the rear springs sit the car far too low to be of any use

The 35mm springs are fine with the standard shocks.
However, change the shocks anyhow even if you go for Boge replacement shocks from GSF. If you have a deep enough wallet fit the Bilstein Sport shocks.

I fitted this kit shortly before my 'Ring trip (see here :
http://e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?name=F ... ic&t=40896 )
It's made by FK Automotive, a fairly well respected German brand. Their high-end stuff is apparently very good.
This kit isn't bad. I tested it to the limit of my ability, (
http://ahymsa.co.uk/images/ring/DSC_2381.JPG ) not that that's saying much

and found a huge improvement over standard in terms of stability and grip.
That said, it's probably worth bearing in mind a few things:
I'd never driven a lowered/stiffened car before
It doesn't seem as stiff now as when I fitted it *
I put Toyo Proxes T1-Rs on at about the same time
At the end of the day, it's cheap and cheerful, it's TuV approved and it'll give the 40mm drop e30s are crying out for.
* This might be down to 'bedding in' or just me getting used to it.

The Weitecs I fitted to the golf were four dampers and four progressive springs. The springs were very good, not too low, not too stiff and were proper progressive springs (unlike many cheap kits).
The dampers were shortened and re-valved Alko dampers. They had 3 years warranty (May have been 2?) and for the 18 months I ragged the nuts out of the golf they stood up well..
I've fitted the -35mm H&R springs and Bilstein 'sprint' (short sport) dampers and am extremely happy with them. Quite a bit more money though!
WOOHOO! 500th post too..
