Touring, lowered 40mm
Re-bushing the rear and wandered if they were worth the extra expense, or are they more for lower cars than mine?

I didn't think there were rear eccentric poly bushes available, only the BMW ones. I have a 60mm drop on mine and it eats tyres something serious, so yeah I would say it's worth it. Or you could mod the beam itself :p

To be honest I totally misread your question Matt. I thought you were asking about the eccentric control arm bushes...
I'd say the eccentric trailing arm bushes aren't as important - especially at -40mm. Is your rear camber very bad?

You mean what is camber?
From the back, if your wheels look like this: / \
You have too much camber!
If they are like this \ \ you have a different, more serious problem.

simon, i only wondered what options there were out there. thought the trailing arms ones were a bit unnecessary for a 35mm drop
weigh up the options; 35 quid for eccentric urethene bushes which will be replaced if they go wrong or 80 quid for bmw ones which probably wont get replaced! you do the maths if your about to go to uni!

BMW will replace stuff as long as they can prove that the item itself failed, and not something that caused it to fail.
however, im gonna be doing a whole suspension overhaul soon, so i need to start collectiong info and parts soon as really, to get the best stuff possible.
where did you get these £35 bushes from dan?

It was on the saloon springs but the correct Touring ones have reduced it, its still there but not enough to justify the extra expense of eccentric bushes!

standard trailing arm bushes on E30's very rarely fail. Excessive camber on a 40mm drop is probably because your sub frame bushes are shagged as when they collapse the back end drops a good 10mm, so your 40 ends up more like 50mm and your in 60mm camber drop territory and tyres lasting 5000miles if that.
If everything is ok on the back end camber shouldn't change enough to eat your tyres on a 40mm drop anymore than say on an m tech drop. I uwere really worried then u could fit just one pair one on either side just to help things a little
Thing is if u have a car on it's arse on a 60mm drop and fit eccentrics chances are afterwards the rim will rub on the arch lip where the wheel sits more upright. My 8j wide alpinas rubbed on my sport with no eccentric bushes fitted under the slightest acceleration! 15bbs are very close to the arch on 60mm so i'm not sure that this would be a viable solution for the 60mm drop massive. U would need a rim on a 14inch bottle top offset (et35) which is well tucked in the arch to avoid it. But then u end up with a 4inch wide wanky wheels and defeats the object a little
this is all based on my experience!

the moral of the story is dont fuckin bother with anything lower than 40 at the rear?

if u go lower than 40 then pay the price on tyres simple really u can't have everything.
Dan yes u are going to uni but why replace a part which is fine?
