Hi all,

who would be able to tell me about a set of tyres that I am getting with my wheels?

They are 205/50 ZR16 Pirelli P 700-Z in the front and 225/45 ZR16 Pirelli P 700-Z at the back.

Just would like to know if they are decent tyres, and whether they are subject to use only for certain seasons in the year.

Im not being funny but i would just buy a set of tyres and run then at any time of the year. I wouldnt get too hung up over they're only good for dry weather so dont run the car in the wet. Unless your going to drive hard in the wet you'll be fine whatever you chose!

Lets be honest most tyre makes at a certain price bracket all do pretty much the same thing. Dont go shooting me down in flames peeps dfor saying that, im talking in more generalities than anything else.

Makes of tyre i've used before:

Pirelli
Eagle F1's
Khumo Ecsta's
Uniroyal Rainstar or something like that. GREAT all round tyre. Had it on the Williams.

for normal uk weather i would say as above, all tyres these days are good in wet and dry for normal driving, unless you live in the scottish highlands where snow is an issue then get some 14inch steelies with winter tyres and change them for winter, similar to what they do in germany (in fact i think its compulsory to run winter tyres in winter)

personally i have run Falkens and never had issues with them (but my cars never see rain).

by the way, you may get rubbing issues with 225's unless your arches are rolled, or you have stiff rear suspension, happened to me.

You should be ok with 225's on the rear, as after all thats what the alpina's run, i.e C2's etc.

But can you run 225's with a 17" wheel??

225/45/17 is a nice profile and cheap.
