Bad sounding Horn!

Just wondering if my horn sounds right. It sounds like a really cheap french horn, and I want the nice full sound like a new BMW.
Anyone had the same problem?
Possible Recommendations?

Any help much appreciated

Cheers

You have probably only got a single tone horn!
Go and buy a two tone beefy horn!... :P

May find that its got the 2 horns but ones packed up. Easy to check if you've got a cheap multimeter. Just bung it on Volts then disconnect the plug and stick a probe in each terminal. Then get a mate to press the horn. If you get a 12V reading (will be a negarive if you've got them the other way round) then get a new horn from the scrappy.

Or just get a mate to kneel at the front....even cheaper

May damage his hearing though!

Lol!
Yea I think I only have a single one, because its hiding behind the kidney grill, and I can't see another. In which case i'll buy a two tone horn.

Many thanks for your advice

I'm assuming your car is a 316i/318i?

It's dead easy to add another horn.

Yea '91 318i.
Should I just buy a two piece horn from the scrapyard? Or add another horn to mine?

You could just buy the low tone horn, as 316i/318i are only fitted with the higher tone one.

Or if easier, get both if you go to a scrappies, they are located above the foglamps, and not behind the kidney when fitted with the twin tone.
