Wait until you get the 2.5, and you'll be able to take on a Vitara as well

I can't see that happening. Maybe if I did the 2.7 conversion.
Ziggy....it honestly did happen. I think his 4x4 system was a bit dodgy though, which gave me an unfair advantage.
I tried against my mates SJ413 and had no chance though. He gets off the line too quick with the 4x4.
Ian......there's not much on the road you would lose to! You can pick on almost anything!!
Have you got your car back from the bodyshop? If not, whens the estimated date? I'd love to have a look at it.

Don't tend to race anything that's not being driven twatishly. However, anything with a shite bodykit and "clio", "Nova" or "Corsa" on it is fair game.
Had an absolute monster go at a clio before christmas. He came buzzing up behind me to a roundabout which leads on to a dual carriage way. My car handles like shit so he had no probs getting ahead round the roundabout so he was about a car length ahead by the time the straight came and then, a nice flex of 171bhp in 2nd gear brought a satisfied grin to my face as I left him breathing oily fumes
Someone should tell these people: If you can't, don't!

Lined up against a nice looking Clio (if there is such a thing) last week at a set of lights on a dual carriage way with about half a mile to a roundabout. He looks over and down at my car and then I see he wants to have a go and I here the revs rising so I decide I'll have a piece of that, I stick the pedal down and we wheelspin up the road and I was a car length in front as I slowed up for the roundabout - and was grinning like a cheshire cat as he scuttled round the roundabout thoroughly embarassed...

Oh did I mention I was in the Zafira
Have'nt raced much in the BMW - not picked on anything I couldn't beat either...

Sorry to hear that Ian, I was thinking of having a couple of little bits done on mine this year - but I fear exactly the problem you are having, especially with a Red one.. !
Was the place you sent it recommended to you ?

The annoying thing is that I have used them before, and they did an excellent job. They also know that I'm an increadibly fussy/arsey fcuker, and am not going to accept any old rubbish.
It just cost's them time and money in the end, so they are the loosers at the end of the day. I'm not giving them a penny until it's done properly.
Ian.

Its a PITA - I know that I would be the same... you don't want to hand over your hard earned until it's absolutely spot on...
Lets hope they get it sorted this time then.

Tonnes of random Chav cars, plenty of random generic crap, more significant cars being a Mazda RX-8, a Ford Focus RS. Not really up for racing and i tend to use the car in the evenings when not many ppl are around...
Been whooped by E46 M3 and an E46 AC Schintzer car, oh the shame of it!

A few!
Loads of Corsa's ( Don't even entertain them any more)
Clio's
Civic's
any of the chavvy little boy racer cars who think that my car is old and slow, until i wind up the straight 6
When i was in my old mans E34 535i some lad came next to me at the lights in a MR2 phase 2 so i waved (which p*s*ed him off) and then just floored it!!

only had the car on the road two weeks,
skinned a clio 172 on 0-100mph (raced him up a hill-puny 16v engine dont have the torque

)
Merc c class 220 from 50-80mph (on a motorway offramp

)
MG ZR 140 30-70mph (up same hill as clio) He wasnt moving fast enough in the outside lane, so i dropped it into 3rd, and passed him on the inside, waving
My little brother in his Skoda Felicia 1.3 on the motorway, when i'd just picked up the car-he was doing 80, so i passed him like a kidney stone (just left it in 5th)this was with no insurance
My jag soverign was brill-i'd just sit in the inside lane doing 60mph, and all the chavs (NEDS here in Ecosse) would actually pull in behind it, afraid to pass!
I'd flash the hazards (a la tokyo highway challenge

) then hit the sport button and boom! a rapidly disappearing nova/corsa/fiesta!

i'll just say that i'm even with a ME E30 200ch ( all of them not just a few ill ones

)
on standind start though i did beat the crap out of a few mercs including 320slk , 500sl and a few BMs, 330i , 330cd, witch was a little more difficult than the mercs
after 220 230kph i do have drag probs and they woosh past me

LOL@ ur Civic rant!
I dont think theyre "quite" as common in the UK than over in the States, and theyre different too.

This is the "best" Civic they do over here, the Type-R, has 200bhp but has no torque

A NOBLE!
But then it was on the road to my house I know like the back of my hand.
He didn't know you can go around that blind summit corner flat out did he?
Wasn't really a remotely fair race, but good confidence booster in the old girl.

forgot that one, a freind got the number 1 that was imported oin france , got a few muggen and other parts over from japan and hits 230hp and 24.5mkg , ill with him till his bloody Vtec comes in and poom away he goes
ps ; on the video ther eis a clio 16v type 1....in reality its a Turbo 16v

we are absolutly not allowed to do this here so im happy to say that their are some dudes ho do do it just for the fun ......
a litle like that bleu golf 4 tdi that was on one of my dyno vids

260hp Nos power diesel ....
oh , yerah on the topic, i do have a E34 540i , and play with the gtech on it...got 14.9 to the 1/4 and 7.2 to 60...
my dad does like racing but he wont test vs my 325 since i showed him my times and a few vids ....i'm sure up to 210 220 i can stay in front ..but then the V8 talks.....
also tested vs a Golf3 VR6....non turbo loool

and i find its crap for the size of the engine ....its behind and drowns more fuel than my old 12v engine

On a race track I have been just over 1sec a lap quicker than a 200sx (S15, 147kW) but in a straight line I am slower than most things. On that same track I have struggled to pass a standard Vaxhuall Astra (the sports version here in Australia) down the straight.
I was right behind him out of the corner before, I got out of the corner quicker, very slowly got along side him and then he had to brake early to let me get into the next corner first because I was only about a bonnet in front

. Luckily there were a few corners after that I and I could pull out a lead. He was about 6/7sec a lap slower than me overall.
My car is just slow, and it's not helped by the fact that I can't drive.
