The problem with a new implementation of the forums is...

That there is no history - all the posts which people wanted to continue posting on (like mine on my M3 project which was acting as a project diary basically) cannot be continued, they lose ALL the existing contributions...

Shame you can't import the MySQL tables into the new setup and use them as the starting point (going back say 1 month so you only retain the active threads...)

Poor!

Oh well...

The old zone is still there, go back and copy and paste, it's what I've been doing for any interesting threads, the infl would have been eventually lost on the runboard forum anyway, threads in the tech section only dated back to the beginning of December.

The old forum was actually a Runboard forum and as such all data was held by them. We had absolutely no control over it, this is why you had to re-register.

We tried to get user information from them on the DB but they wouldn't release it. If they did, you wouldn't have needed to re-register.

Unfortunately it's one of those things, the forum will soon grow and posts will not be lost on this forum... the old one had a 500 post limit on each category anyway so sooner or later it would have disappeard. That will not happen on this forum.
