Lets hear them.
I just heard a classic. I had to follow my dad who was driving a hire van so sitting higher than usual, I pulled in behind him in a lay- by and he said it looked like I was driving without wheels. With a 60mm drop on the front and an IS spoiler he couldnt see any wheels

I like that
where do i start!

I once heard someone say my Touring's mint!
A....... It's not, nowhere near! I just keep it as clean and tidy as possible.
B....... Just how many 15 year old cars that aren't garaged and are in daily (365 days a year!) use are mint? - Answer....... NONE.

The one I used to hear when i first bought my car, and use to try and get parts over the phone was,
"Whats the make and model of your car"
"oh, Its an E30 M3"
"pardon"
"an E30 M3"
"sorry sir there is no such thing, do you mean a motorsport"
"no its LHD, only made in Germany"
"sir there is no such thing on our system"
so i just use to put the phone down, but recently, most BMW garages seem clued up, and actually know what I am talking about.

Some one asked what body kit was that

by Dominitry
I've had the bodykit question with the sport, it's mostly the sideskirts as they want them for there novas or something.
Another is you should get some alloys on that, erm...they are alloys

Ive had so many over the passed 4 years I just shrug them off and knod!!!
The worse ones are when the typical 'drug dealer' type people (sorry to stereotype) drive passed when Im waiting for the wife in a car park and give me some sort of hand signal as if Im down 'with it' or something.
Other good ones are when you go to BMW dealers and a mechanic comes out and comments on my mint 325 with big arches.
Ive also had the 'theres no such car as an E30 M3 mate' phone call with motor factors

i get nice m3 rep (because iv got a m badge on the front) even though iv got 325i on my num plate,
and "oh that bmw is heavy man" yes m8 i guess it would be if you tried to pic it up lol
maxfield you dont have a car m8 lol

The best comment Ive had about the M3 was from my nephew.....
He said "Is it a racing car, or batmans car?"

Bless him, he's 6....but loves going out in it.......start 'em young!

Oh yeah, he's also curious as to why the steering wheel is on the "wrong side"

I recently got flagged dowm by the local chaves.....
"why have you got an electric dumpvalve, seems stupid"
My response was, " get in , shut up and hold on"
They
all understand now
Fair play though, they have 1/2 a clue

OK, I dont have an M3 but I was after some M3 bits....

and I had pretty much exactly the same as that at my local BMW dealer just after they changed to the new ETK thingy. A new parts guy (who didnt have a clue) and a badly set up system that didnt recognise any LHDs

I'm always amazed at how many people ask about my car! - Am i selling it? - What is it? is a favourite of mine - i have to resist the urge to simple say - its a car mate!!

- The best one is when i was stopped one nite and i had the feds admiring the motor... They nearly forget to tell me to turn my fogs off!!

I was going along a little country road round my way, and i came across someone on a horse, i slowed down, turned my tunes down (what a considerate fellow i hear you say) and as i drove past, the little girl on the horse said 'nice car', so i said ' cheers, nice horse'
The amount of random people that say to me 'nice car' or thats its mint (its not!) in the street really makes me proud, but more makes me laugh because its 16 years old, has rust, and is probably worth half or quarter as much as their motor!

I always get the following comments -
1. Is that a 325 mate?
2. What bodykit is that, its 'fat innit'
3. They never made an e30 m3 sir
4. Are you selling that? il give you £800 cash right now
5. "do you have any drugs in the car sir?"
6. If thats a real M3 why dont you have the M3 mirrors?
Damn i hate stupid people

my most common,
"nice estate"
"why did u buy an estate"
"why is it so low"
"why is the ride so hard"
"why is the insurance so much"
"why did u get stopped again"
"why do u drive like a madman"
admittedly, most of the comments were from my girlfrien, bar the first 2
if she had called it an "estate" we would have been divorced
