THE ROGUE ON THE ZONE

HI all,
As promised i am now willing to divulge the user id of the man that sold me,the dirtiest set of wheels ever at the opinion of 2 alloy wheel centres, both said the only course of action is refurb.i paid £235 for them, described as V.V GOOD CONDITION , no kerbing, light scratches,4 good tyres,1 needed replacing, will clean up MINT!!!!! His own words, check the zone for sale thread.
The reality is to far gone to clean, kerbing on 4 out of five bought,2 illegal tyres,1 borderline, paint lifting, brake dust everywhere. After reporting my dissatisfaction on delivery to the seller was told the money had been spent, was told he would try to get loan to reimburse me and i would send them back(at my expense,£60).48 hours later,no contact, left numerous messages,pm via zone, nothing!!!!
THE member i am refering to is HAMMERHEADBEEMER,real name Malcolm Good, from Bedford,he has other items on the zone for sale, take my advice STEER WELL CLEAR,descriptions are out and out lies, dishonest,no better than a common thief in my opinion.

Hi mate, I'm always sad to hear stuff like this, I think you should post up close photos of the wheels to back up your story. Because if someone is selling stuff so badily misrepresented somthing should be done about it.
im trying

Hi mate, you need the URl from photoshack then put after it, or there may be a direct thing that you can just copy and paste, it's the 3rd one down on photobucket.

Just looked up his username, and it seems he has only ever used the sales section on the zone, I'd be wary of anyone who just joins up for selling etc.

Added to my "Not getting any of my £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£s" list.
If you want to pursue him legally try this......

Works well because they end up with a CCJ if they don't pay up.

OR fun in the rain depending how you look at it. But that's not the point, the point is they were sold as having good (apart from 1) tyres, which they clearly are not. And being returnable to mint. I have nothing against people who sell alloys with crap tyres, if you know what you are getting, same goes for the condition of the alloys. TBH I sold a set for £120 not so long ago and they were 100 times better than that lot. Same sort of condition, a bit better, but they had a set of matching conways on them with 4-9mm trad, so I think you can demany your money back mate as you could get a better set for less - they should have been mint at that price, and it would have been ok had they been....
Sorry waffling now......

!!
Thanks to neil

I would like to say a big public thankyou to Nelly for hosting these photos for me,please bear in mind these wheels have been cleaned thoroughly already, when we got them they were 10X worse.Neil will be posting more photos, take note of the nails in the tyres also.
But why should i worry,as hammerheadbeemer said they will clean up mint!(NOT).I think a membername of DICKHEADBEEMER is more appropriate!

I'd go and get my money back personally if you've got the guys address - ring him first to tell him the sp though.
Or some one can get it for you

without sounding patronising, did you buy these wheels without looking at pictures of the wheels, thats a big no no.
But whats done is done, you can get them refurbed from a place in hemel hempstead if you are after a value job, its a trek but may save some money.
I also have one new tyre to fit 15" BBS wheels, let me know if your interested via PM.
Its a shame that people have to resort to lying about this stuff.

Not trying to be funny, but theres no pics that I cab see on the original thread. And knowing that generally wheels are the items that get damaged or scuffed. I wouldn't of just taken his (or anybodies for that matter) word for it.
IMHO you should of viwed before buying, and whilst they may not be as described you wil be lucky to get any money back. So it may be better to chalk it up to experience, than pay out more to chase him.
Just get the refurbed and it won't matter quite so much.

Hi mate sorry to hear about this, i do feel for you. Without wanting to appear to be having a dig, did you not manage to see any photographic evidense of the wheels prior to handing over the readies to this theiving scumbag??
Because if i had seen them in that state id be telling him to stick it at that price. Again im definately not condoning what he'd done but i personally would never buy anything without seeing them.
If on the other hand hed shown you a set of wheels which turned out to be completely different then the geeza needs DROPPING!

To be fair - if a fellow zone member told me something was in good condition i would believe them. I guess im too trusting, it just shows that there are still some scumbags lurking on here

gotta agree, yes he should have looked for pics but the zone is supposed to be a community thing. This guy is just one of those that comes on to sell so hes not really one of those.
lesson learned tho mate, never buy anything without seeing pics at least

I have said this before dodgy dealers are targeting, the zone. Buyer beware. Maybe we could set up a inspection, for zoners a long way from the sale. This would have to be condition only 'cause mechanical is a bit of a grey area.
In the case of the wheels, another zoner would have seen they were bad.

bottom line is never trust anyones word that you dont actually know, although a regular with a higher post count would tend to be more trustworthy, and certainly never buy anything without actually seeing pics

isnt £235 a bit steep for they wheels even in top condition?

Where about is he from ? I will gladly go and see him for you, those wheels are a mess, I've read he's in merseyside if you would like a part refund let me know with his address and I'll pay him a polite zone visit !!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your concern, some call it nievety,i call it trustworthiness,i didnt receive photos, took him at his word, what a laugh !the guy sounded genuine, called me regularly prior to sale to keep me posted etc.I do think he genuinely believed they would clean up,but then David Blain thought he could hold his breath for a week under water,Fat chance!
I realise i cant do a lot its just so frustrating knowing it,i have had a quote for a refurb of £275 for 4 wheels, that brings them in at about £525 including courier etc.Just a case of cutting my losses, legal costs, pointless, and its 300 +miles to give him a kick in,cant say i havent thought about it!!!!
An expensive lesson,Yes if anyone wants to reclaim my money they're more than welcome.Real name Malcolm Good works at Bedford mot centre in Bedford!People like this dont do the zone any favours ruin it for decent owners.

Doesn't cost a lot, IIRC about £25, and you can do it online.
Must be worth a try.

got 15inch bbs refurb done at wheel magic in barnsley wy wheels were fair some corrosion from back and the odd scuff. They chemically stripped blasted I think powder coated undercoat and silver + laquer (i think) £165 they checked rims true before starting and can fit + balance Tyres. Nice job lads at ferry bridge said very nice best refurb they seen. If phone number needed PM me as it will take a bit of finding.
