No matter how chav or crap it looks it will be interesting to see what jamie shaw would do if one of us turned up and asked him to make our ride into something special, i personally think its going to get stuffed all the way but i did like the capri they done last series, and if it looks like bootymans ride, that will be a good pimped job.

Agree with the Capri - shame again the engine was a 1.6 lawnmower. 2.8i or better still, the rover V8 conversion would have made it perfect.
I can see them making the E30 too modern looking.

i Agree. Last series they kept it kind of simple, but this series seems like there is going to be a lot of that american influence happening ie the sand in the floor WTF!, you know in the american one they go crazy with the lava lamps and mini washing machines, and is it me and my personal opinion that think both the UK and US shows fit some crappy wheels. my wheels on my car are not hot but please!

Never saw the UK version but the american version really sucks i just can't understand the appeal. If some one can record it and post i would love to see it

yep that sure is the capri up for grabs, i think most people would do this, and are doing this now, find an old heap, get them to pimp it and then sell it, as i know most people would not be seen dead in some of these cars

If I remember rightly, that bloke bought the capri straight from the scrappy. I think it had teeth marks in the roof from where it was picked up by the scrappy grabber.

The UK version has a budget of about 10p. That Morris Minor they did was so bad i actyally felt ashamed to even stand there looking at it
The paint work was running everywhere and it just wasn't happenning. I think they should come and consult me. Besides i get asked about a million times a week if my car had been on Pimp My Ride

That capri was horrible! Not the worst job they've done, but just didn't suit the car at all. The owner was after 10k for it last I heard!

I quite liked the look of the capri, allot of chavvy bits on there but in comparison to the other projects they've ruined its the nicest....

Its a 316 4 door, whixh i've heard end's up looking like a M3 (e36 style), they go overboard on TV screens aswell.
I cant stand westwood presenting the show but i will watch it just for the laughs

The U.S. version of Pimp My Ride is a watch-worthy piece of television just for the over-the-top sketches and reactions they get.
Westwood is a poor-man's X-to-the-Zee, Xhibit... He's the King-Pin of the table, the lord of the ring... but he's really a skinny white guy wanting to be black. Mmmm... Marshall Mathers...?
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Pimp My Ride UK sucks. Not one person in the UK can really pull off the genuine shock reactions that the US guys appear to have. Not to mention the cars... What do we get here...? A Morris Minor with a new paint job, Lamborghini doors on a Mk2 Golf, etc. Need I go on...?
Not impressed with Carisma at all. They look like a bunch of Toni&Guy wannabes to be honest. Their imagination and build quality isn't the most amazing, and makes the programme nearly un-watchable. And for some reason, their accents seem to be overly british... or is it just me?
Pimp my Ride UK...? Chave me Mota' mate.
Please be aware that this is only my personal feelings about this and in no way shape or form should be taken as the Zone's stance on this subject.

Sorry but has to be said but Westwood is a Pussy Boy. Trys to act like he's from the street, really annoys me. Anyway looking forward to seeing what they got in store for that 316, lets hope they dont put chrome rims on and all that fancy shit on.

As much as I hate westwood and it pains me to type this. I really don't like him, he was instrument in the development of hiph op in uk. From producing uk based acts in the mid 80's to growing relationships with those who matter in the early 90's
I make no excuse for him now, his play list reads like the standard 1fm playlist!!! He is a muppet!!

westwood is a complete twat and a mug! hes pushing 40 years old, he talks like he is a retard, we all know he is putting that street voice on. hes totally fake. if i ever see the prick in the street i will take out my baseball bat from down beside my drivers seat and wrap it roung his F@@@ing head.

Naaaah, you'd just point and laugh... that's the worst thing you could do to him. A bit of public humiliation is the best!

walk behind him and trip hip up or do that thing like when you were at school where you lift their foot mid stride with yours, making him look entirely foolish!!!

Or challenge him to a 'dance off' right there and then in the street... be right in his face about it too! PMSL!

In the early 90's when he had top dj and rappers oding their thing on his show. They'd ask Westwood to DJ or rap and he's reply.. "Nah man, .... No skillz, No skillz.."
I used to laugh!

I didn't know it was going to be the UK version. I have only seen 2 of the uk ones lost count of the ORIGINAL Pimp my ride. Watched the first one and then the one where he Pimped Madonna's ride.
I find him so annoying and so false. He is really popular but I fail to see why or how
i will watch this BM pimp.
Just slightly off the topic, the UK version is restricted because of the laws, MOT etc over there, judging by some of the so called vehicles that get pimped, they can't have MOT's and video screens in the front!!! Can't see that happeneing here!!!!

PMRUK! The most scripted show on television. Seriously I think Ricky Gravis would struggle to write something more cringeworthy than the shower of shite that is PMRUK!
The American version is a lot better, maybe it's because we accept over the top reactions from Americans? The English version should have been just that, rather than a carbon copy of the American version!!!
It should have been presented by someone like Richard Blackwood, someone who would at least make you laugh and can get away with black slang without looking like a man in a middle aged crisis!

Richard Blackwood would have made it a proper television show. Might have even made a point of watching it then.
Maybe they should do one with Jeremy Clarkson as well... would have been funny.

All the information below is what you need to get on pimp my ride, how do i know cause i had an old bmw 2002, that i applied to get pimped and you know what i got through, but then refused to do it after watching the first series, as i could not imagine myself jumping up and down on live TV going oh my gosh, oh my gosh, when i would really want to say, this looks shit, you have fcuked up my car, so i will save money and restore it sometime in the future. theres a project if anyone is interested. On the subject of westwood i think he has just moulded himself into this character and now it has taken over his body, poor guy
