Alpina or Hartge??

Ive got loads of revision to be doing for my end of year exams at uni.... so I though what better way to waste some time than play around with wheels!! Annoyingly the car isnt looking as I want it, at present - having been repeatedly let down by a mate of a mate who is spraying my tec1 skirts, front spoiler and bootspoiler insert.

Anyway - just wondered where you guys stand on the alpina vs hartge debate. I'm leaning towards Hartge, mainly because the alpinas need refurbishing, but the large number of replicas also detracts from the alpinas perhaps.........

Hartges every time. Alpinas and Alpina reps probably outnumber bbs cross-spokes by now.

Hi Paul - I thought you might vote for the hartges!! Yeah I was really lucky and got hold of a set of 16's, done a good turn by a fellow zoner you could say. How are those 15's? Are they refurbed and on yet, I look forward to the pics!

Andrew we have had this debate before to the point of wieghing both wheels on the bathroom scales whilst on the phone!

They weigh the same. Hartge rims are not more performance orientated.

Alpina's add a touch of class

Hartge all day long....too many Alpina reps out there which spoil it for the originals, also Hartge much much lighter.

U know it makes sense Simon winkeye winkeye winkeye

having 2 hartge cars i supposed i have to be biased but they piss all over alpinas and alpinas are for classy type of ppl where as hartge alloys were designed to be more of a race wheel type being lightweight and ultra strong!! hartge all round are so much better than alpina but i will not start a debate me and iain both know though!

Hartge :)

Hartge's for me too, genuine alpina look crap unless mega clean and 8J rear, alpina reps look much nicer than genuine, but the wobble ruins them, hartges just look so much nicer, especially the side profile!

wow - that close up of one of your alpinas is impressive, thinking of getting my set done, anyone had any experience with BJV Engineering? Got a very good quote from them, not sure if it includes respraying/laquering the centrecaps though!

Bob_S - definately keeping the hartges for now, but as for the alpinas i'm listening to offers, but by no means desperate to sell as Im thinking of keeping them for whatever e30 i get for summer.

Yet all my wheels get done at lepsons they have done my 15inch bbs and my set of Alpinas 7 front 8 rear and they are second to none floorless well worth the effort mate i would not use anyone else

on your car i'd have to say hartge, however, i usually prefer alpinas. BK racing have ruined the alpina for everyone else but the real 8j ones... oooh!

it's always me on my own fighting the alpina corner.

this is all shit about hartge wheels lighter and racing pedigree this and that. They ain't no lighter and they ain't no stronger. They bend just like alpina's do very easily :banghead:

Now tell me this don't look good?! why do people stare at these rims when they are spinning? cos they look pukka!

Image who is that driving  oh the shame

Its not the rims they are staring at but the driver !!!!!!!

Si, you never take losing the debate gracefully...........lol

Hartge by a mile !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the problem there are to many fakes around which cheapens the originals which are very nice wheels but Hartge are more exclusive because of the fakes

I think the voting pole does all the talking here guys!! HARTGE. Its a class above!! And yes im biased, but for the right reasons.

Hartge Split rims wins it even more comfortably!!

like the picture. kelleners also did tunning and conversions in the eighteys along with the others, and still are.

2.7 and 3.5 conversions etc, although there bodykits where a bit off. :?

the wheels on that are o.z turbos. rare rims now, and fetch good money.

as for alpina/hartge.

im not to fussed, but hartge did a better job overall. in my opionion the alpina stying is lovely, even the stripes. alpina also rolls off the toungue better.
