You probably won't be able to change the spacing, it's illegal now isn't it?

[spoilsport mode]Besides, private plates are wank.[/spoilsport mode]

Go for it. I see no reason why you shouldn't add a touch of difference to your car. Only thing i'd be careful about is the spacing as the Police can be a bit stroppy with you depending on where you live

I like my previous plate, but sold it with another car, traffic cops are a bit funny about it, but I know a friendly MOT tester, so will only have problems with cops maybe..
there are loads in my area with spacing like that...lucky to see traffic cops one every few weeks! so might get away with it!

Private plates are not WANK! I think they add a nice touch to a car.. :D  :D

No needs to be taxed & Moted! No other way, and also if its been scraped or written off no way of retreving plate either!

It is illegal to change the spacing, but you can get it made as a 'show plate' and use it at your own risk.

B5 OXX on my 8 series is spaced as B5O XX - had it done standard size and font and i've never been pulled for it (although they did warn me once when they pulled me for speeding but couldn't prove it winkeye )

Technically they can stop you driving your car until the plate is changed, so i mount them with velcro and keep genuine plates in the boot just in case!!

If you're sure you're gonna have an E30 for a long time, and if you sell your current one you're gonna buy an E plate or newer, then go for it :thumb:

Bought my plate as a 40th birthday present to myself and that was nearly 18 years ago! It's been on my E30s ever since. For those familiar with the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, the number's the answer to all the questions in the Universe and the initials are mine. Very grandiose!!! It's worth more my than my Sport now. Wouldn't part with it though.

I've got an Irish (Private?) Plate on mine.

I'm proud of the fact that its and 87 Car, and am trying to sell the plate, and put it back to standard.

I've put the plate, MIL 1204, up for sale on various sites, and if it sells, I'll use the money on the car.

So if your names Milly, and your birthday is 12th April give me a shout!!

What are the requirements for participating vehicles?
Participating vehicles must be currently licensed, subject to annual testing and available for inspection. However, applications involving unlicensed donor vehicles will still be considered if:

the licence for the donor vehicle expired no more than six months prior to the date of the application; or if
the donor vehicle is not old enough to be tested , i.e. less than 3 years old for cars, motorcycles, etc or less than 1 year old in the case of HGVs.
