hi all. i have a problem. i bought a 318 touring last week for the missus and also picked up a 325i cheap for the alpina rims on it. i went to change the wheels over today and the touring has bmw locking wheel nuts on it and no key. i searched the whole car and nothing. how can i get these locking wheelnuts off, its the type with the splines on them. i have a 2000 528i sport with the same nuts and the key for those doesnt fit . help please. cheers all.

I had this problem with my car when i first got it.
I took it to tyer exuast place and they removed the locking nuts for me, cost Ԛ£5 per wheel i think.
this would be a last resort though.

Count the number of splines on the bolts, go to your $tealer, they will be able to sell you one. Cheap enough - get a couple so you have a spare.
If you haven't got a BMW $tealer nearby, Rover used the same ones.

if not get a 17mm impact socket and a big hammer.
i had to do this to my car, silly tossers at the tyre plase dont them up with a air gun when i told them not to and snapped it, they didnt even tell me just put it back in the car. lol

hi all. thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help. i bought a locking wheel nut removal tool for Ԛ£13 and managed to get 2 of them off but it wouldnt remove the other 2 so i went to a mates house and he got them off by tapping them round with a hammer and chisel. could have saved meself Ԛ£13 and gone to him first, anyway the alpinas are now on and ithe touring looks so much better. i will put a pic on when i get chance to take one in daylight. again cheers everyone.

I thought you meant the locking centers on the Alpina wheels.
I had an ordeal getting new Alpina locks ordered for mine so that all 4 had the same key.
Dealer told me I needed to buy all new centers, a call to Buchloe gave me the correct BMW part number for them. :D
