Don't think they will dye, but some people have painted them in the past.

im interested to know how that goes, good idea. also, do u think dying the carpet would work?? i would like it black also

Carpet is man made fibre which doesn't take well to dyeing. Make sure you use the best quality dye you can find suitable for use with MMF.
