Here's a question - would they not look at market value on sites like this when/if they ever needed to evaluate?

Any semi-nice sport seems to be for sale for 20K +....so that's surely MV?

It does but I think more than that, it shows that if you want money, originality is the key. From the pictures it looks original and unmolested, reality might obviously be different when attacked with a magnet and screwdriver and a closer eye on the usual places.

Couple of little things like the supposed OBC but on paper it looks close to a top money car.

that's the thing, the totally original, untouched factory spec cars are now few & far between, those that do come up for sale are fetching huge amounts of money because the "collectors" are willing to pay the price,

sports (m-tech 1 & 2) seem to be going up in value because the likes of M3's (incl base models) have become all but unattainable now a days & it's having a knock on effect, just look at the classic ford scene.

This looks worth a look for anybody on the hunt for a Sport. Appears not to have sold at Auction today. Looks genuine in the write up and pictures. Is there a different story close up?
Website suggests £20,250 buys

What would an unmolested m-tech1 go for these days? Weren't they more rare? Like 280 built or something.
