My 320i touring is goin in for a service next week, it had a full service history till a year ago, she runs well, just wondering if i should go for an inspection 1 or an inspection 2. Can anyone shed some light on the diference and offer some advice on which one i should go for. I dont mind spending the money, if i have to... Thanks

IIRC, the sequence is oil service, inspection 1, oil service, inspection 2, so if you have full history, you should be able to tell which is needed next.

You need in my opinion to take a view on:

How many miles since last service and what was that service
When was the cam belt last done
When was coolant and brake fluid last changed
Any issues reported from last mot

Mine does about 3000 a year and I tend to do oil service one year inspection2 the next, cam belt every 5 years and brake fluid/coolant every 2. This may be over the top but it's a 16 year old car and I reckon things fail due to age as well as use now. Having said that it's never let me down or failed an mot. (so now it will tomorrow of course) I do odd jobs in between - rear shock tops recently for example.

Depends what you want the car for mate - although mine doesnt cover many miles I need it to be reliable, hassle free, fun and smooth. It's not costing me much in depreciation so I dont mind spending a bit more on maintenance. But you might have other priorities.
