E30 GENUINE TECH 2 KIT?

Hi chaps im going to see a cabby tomorrow and it has a tech 2 kit, the owner said his not sure if its genuine, how can i tell if it is? any help appreciated

Welcome to zone,try and find out if the car was fitted the the kit from new,one way is to find the last 6 digits of the vin number and put into this site and that should tell you.

he said it was a coupe kit modified to fit a cabby so its not a factory fitment

Kick it. If it bends it's genuine, if it breaks it's not.

Genuine is plastic, copies are fibreglass. Also, on a genuine kit he front bumper and valance are separate parts, copies are one.
