E30 Zone

Right, we have had a good look at the "New Zone" and this is a question that Steve, who has organised all of the upgrades , can not ask.
So I will.

What do you think please ????

I reckon it's great, love the instant photo upload , I suggested a navigation change or two, but essentially it's brilliant, just a bit concerned that many old users don't know it's back up to speed , blanket email to all registered users maybe ?

Pretty good, jumping to pages from the list view could be easier with slightly bigger finger friendly buttons. No othrr problems so far.

steve you've done a fantastic job with the update, the look & feel has (to me anyway) stayed the same, the fact you can now upload pics straight to a thread is a massive plus for all users new & old,

hopefully this will bring in a lot more traffic for the place.

I think the new look is a great improvement and easy upload of photos is a huge benefit, it was a pain before. It took a while to find my way around, but getting the hang now.

I suppose a number of users stopped looking and have not realised it is up and running again, as paultv says, a mass emailing of members to let them know would be a great idea, if it could be arranged.

I like the site, like anything new it takes a while to get used to change, the only thing is that I am on here less as site traffic/postings have seem to have died down.

I think the new site is perfect ,I'm so glad it's up and running again , thanks Steve for all your hard work it is very much appreciated ,ta very much again.

Never spent that much time on the old sites, as said before parked up my E30 half a decade before the zone was born

But this update has been well worth the effort put in. Keeps the feel of the old zone but up to date. Good effort indeed

Could we have an easy way back to the Zone home page from the Wiki? at the moment (for me anyway) if I click the zone logo (top left) it takes me back to the wiki home page, just like the "Wiki Main Page" link underneath. Only way back to the home page is out and back again.

First world problem, just thought I would mention it.

The suggestion that you have all made have been added to my todo list, which I'm currently working through.

The mass email idea is not really an options because of the new GDPR rules and the time it would take to implement doing this could be better spent doing other things. Don't forget that we are now an open forum so people don't need to login to view the site, we are getting lots of traffic but not all of it resulting in posts.

There is more to come, so stay tuned...

As said before the new layouts great.Only issue i have found to date is a few wiki pages i'm trying to access are not working with an 404 error(m52 swap and m60 swap) not sure if its a zone problem or wiki as i don't know how websites work haha

I like the new format - it's cleaner and up to date with the look of modern sites. I haven't had the opportunity to try the image uploading facility to see just how easy this is, but that's a great touch negating the requirement for a third-party involvement.

IMO, traffic has increased, with new posts and the For Sale section is definitely busier. I think the site just needs more time to be recognised that it is back and hugely improved.

Go into the full editor just below the "quick reply" section and there are millions of them mate ! Well quite a few.

I like the changes

I would love to see a favourites or "like" type button so that we can use to mark all informative posts for quick future references - perhaps these could be set in the user profile? By clicking on the link here, we can see all the marked posts.
