Quick questions, engines

Seen a couple lately where the rocker cover and I "think" the inlet manifold are black from the factory, any reason for this?

they were charcoal/black on alpinas

Alpina were the only people to have them in a different colour and its a dark grey colour, not black.
No black cam cover or inlet on an M20 engine from factory.
