These are the wheels that everyone wants, particularly in staggered form, the rears are NLA, not sure if the fronts are. I'm interested to hear what people think they are worth.

Let’s assume they are in 8/10 condition, are straight and true and come with caps, badges, locks, keys, lock covers, seals and no tyres.

I'm thinking it’s well into four figures ?

I purchased a really nice set with tyres for £800.00 admittedly this was approx two years ago, but would agree they have gone up in price a bit since then..

Two years ago, I think that was a great price. I'd have bought another set at that money.

Was the spare a front or rear ?

That adds up to £500 per rim, so £2k for a mint (9/10] set.

Top blag £1600 was the bench mark but it seems to have moved on a bit! the spare wheel was a 7j rim

being that they are so rare, one should jump on them if you get the opportunity and want them.

Took me 5 years to find a pair of 8's, then a buddy of mine found another set so I bought them too. Now I have two staggered sets :D

How are tyres relevant? 8O

Relevant facts for me are-
Can you buy them new? How much for
How many are on ebay/available for sale? How much for
Are they in original appearance, crap powdercoat refurbs devalue quality wheels

I'm with Dan, tyres are a bonus, and in my experience never much use, they’re either ditchfinders, cracked or damaged.

They'll fit anything with a 4x100 stud pattern with a similar bore size.

The last set of genuine Alpinas i sold were a set of 7J's that were freshly refurbed by Lepsons which had a set of near new (8mm tread, 2015 build date) Continental Sport contact tyres which if you were to buy new would have been another £360 on top of the purchase price of bare wheels.

The guy that bought them essentially had a set of mint Alpinas with quality tyres ready to bolt on for much less than it would have cost to buy a rough set of 7J's, refurb them, buy new badges locks and seals (all of which were new!) and a new set of tyres.

Tyres are very relevant as good tyres aint cheap!

Agree with Barry above, that scenario is an exception in my experience. Most tyres I’ve seen with rims are only on to avoid the seller paying to have them removed.

Perhaps it's because I bought all my rims when Hartges were £300 for a decent set and Alpina staggered with all the trimmings were £450 :D

...... If only you could buy a new set of matching tread sport contacts now for staggered Alpinas!

call me old fashioned by i like street tyre to be great in the wet and peform flawlessly in all conditions including when cold. there are for sure "street" cars that they make sense on but the definition of a street car is kind of varied

The AD08R is a road tyre all be it a 'summer' tyre.

Now on my second set and having covered over 10000 miles of road and track use with both dry and wet road use i can say with confidence they are fine for road use.

I wanted a 'winter' tyre i would by a winter tyre.

for work i used to live a year in a city where it regularly was below -30C but i didn't have my e30 thankfully. here it does not get much below -1 or -2. its actually more the rain that worries me the aquaplaning in the heavy storms that produces sheets of water and runoff that are not so much fun. that's not a problem with a quality conti or Michelin tyre.

some tyres allow you to have your cake and eat it to, those are the ones to get for the street

I think we established what a set of staggered Alpina's are worth within a few posts Rav and tyres (all be it the limited choice) of the correct size for the 8J rear is relevant.
