Exactly the same company, always cheaper from personal experience and always have discount codes. I've had no real problems with them until a recent drama with ordering, returning and refunding some HB4 headlight bulbs which made me wish I'd made the 12 mile walk to Halfords instead! It was painful but we got there in the end.Satan wrote:Check out Carparts4less as they sometimes have deals and are a part of ECP.
Bosch 096 S4 ECP £175, Carparts4less £112 just wait for a 10% or 20% deal to come through.darkchild wrote:Exactly the same company, always cheaper from personal experience and always have discount codes. i've got an 8 cell battery of a derv donkey, never know any car it's been on start quickerTom_Maverick wrote:Anywhere but halfrauds! I can't remember the size but there's a diesel one with the same post setup as an E30 for a bit more oomph.. I'm sure someone else can come up with the details! euro car parts or Camberleys is good.. I'd check your alternator too (batt should be about 12.5 not running and 13.5+ when it's running with all lights etc off) whilst you're at it!
nah, lincolnshire more likeSatan wrote:Heart attack victims ambulance has battery stolen whilst attending to patient in Mansfield........
HA! Good work, I think... didn't get the siren whilst you were there? I found an old ambulance siren at an autojumble once.. it was only when I got it home I made the discovery that they are 24v.. cue hilarious wheezing two-tone siren on my old Granada..steve_k wrote:i've got an 8 cell battery of a derv donkey, never know any car it's been on start quickerTom_Maverick wrote:Anywhere but halfrauds! I went the whole nine yards and bought a complete ambulance, sirens didn't work though. Was haunted too, and used during the Hungerford Massacre in the 80's, probably why. Used to give me the creeps that thingTom_Maverick wrote:HA! Good work, I think... didn't get the siren whilst you were there? back on topic 096 is the one that I always went for I think, not a lot more money for loads more fizz.. check your earths too... I always added one to the body and one to the engine as the old ones are oxidised and rubbish nine times out of ten.. also copper is subject to work-hardening and becoming brittle so strands break in the cable and the first you know of it is dim lights, poor charging and slow starting..
I scrapped it, after pillaging various parts. I will post proof later in Pub Talksteve_k wrote:roger, if that had come from anyone else i'd have called BS, but, it came from you so i really could believe itany idea what happened to it??
Snazz! I had a classy Granada hearse that I eventually took up the 1/4 mile at santa pod.. 3.0 Essex... on the way home the body was coming away where the conversion had been done and I lost my fags through the hole.. around clacket lane the oil pressure went and that was that.. I'll also find suspect pictures and stick them in pub talk.. I don't usually go in there as it's where the 'opinions' hang out but I'll make an exception for comedy death wagons!Jesus325iTouring wrote:I went the whole nine yards and bought a complete ambulance, sirens didn't work though. You're not wrong.. although they always like to chuck you a curve ball just as you've spent your money..test and re test before you throw parts at it.
Love it! Thread done, get yer pictures up. I did look at a stretched funeral Granada, (Dorchester IIRC) but it was shagged out and I didn't bother with it.Tom_Maverick wrote:

If it's a post facelift 6 pot, the first thing you know is the cloud of smoke from the oil level sensor earth lead, running the length of the engine loom, vaporizing. 0.5mm2 copper wire doesn't take kindly to being asked to carry the full starter motor current.Tom_Maverick wrote: check your earths too... the first you know of it is dim lights, poor charging and slow starting..
