Socket for removing transmission collar nut

Hey
Im looking for a 30mm thin walled deep socket for getting the transmission output shaft collar nut off.
Does anyone have one/know where I can get hold of one that will fit ?

You should be able to find one from a 3/4" drive socket in this size easily enough from a tool factors. It may require a little attention (mine did) from a bench grinder to get it thin walled enough to fit.

have a look at halfords, they do a cheap one at £8 which is cheap enough to be "modified" to work.

you sure about using a 3/4" drive socket?? they ain't that cheap especially from motor factors, the last set a got was £140 (draper),
only other place i can think of is ebay.

TBH, mine's on indefinite loan from a set belonging to a neighbour about fifteen years ago . He had the set to deal with wheel nuts on some big agricultural vehicles, so only needed a few of the sockets and the big breaker bar - the 30mm one was sat unused in the box, and would probably still be if I hadn't "borrowed" it. I had intended to return it, but it didn't look quite so shiny after I had to thin it down on the grinding wheel.

been there a few times, "i just need to borrow such & such" 5 - 10yr's later it's in the bottom of my tool box.
think thats how a lot of my dads tools ended up at mine

most of my tools seem to float around a lot
