So as a spin off from one of my threads, how do you clean the inside of the lens`s and reflectors of the lights without splitting the lens off the front ?

Remove the units, fill them with warm soapy water, swill it around and leave them to dry on a radiator.

Throw it in with the soapy water before shaking.
As to the type, I've no idea. Hard white stuff in a jar in the kitchen cupboard.
Dishwashers are for cylinder heads and inlet manifolds.

I would avoid using the dishwasher as a parts washer until the new year. Christmas has enough potential for friction without adding that in, however sensible and reasonable that use might appear to the male mind.

Have seen thinners suggested,in place of water.

A while ago i tried a mix of white-vinegar,white-spirit and brown-rice,with limited success.

Quite a reasonable point here, but I bought and installed the dishwasher within....24 hrs and fixed the toilet as well this week so when she goes to work next week, Playtime !!
