Question regarding black electric aerials, were these standard on the 325i sport and motorsport convertibles or an option?, mine is currently having bodywork and I need a new aerial.

Think shadow-line (de-chromed) cars are supposed to have matching black aerials.

Question-black electric aerials--after lots of use-does the mast stay black,or does the black coating,whatever it is,wear off and you end up with a silver mast?

here's a black mast if you have the hirschmann auta 2030...i think you can replace the chrome mast with this but would need to sand back and spray the rest of the fitting in satin black....should look ok once done.

you could try searching for a black hirschmann (auta 2030 sw (sw for schwartz)), but they are like hens teeth.

Mine is at least 10 years old, some of the black has worn off in small areas but not much. I have wiped it with an oily rag about once every 3 years though.
