i have a 325i cab 107,000 miles best oil to use as so many variations out there car is not used as a daily only few thousand miles a year if that ...

10W-40 full synthetic is what I use, but these engines aren't at all fussy. As I've written on here before, the spec. of the cheapest supermarket own brand oil is going to far exceed that of the best oils around when these engines were designed.

Thanks brian most of the oils at 10w 40w are semi synthetic where as the fully synthetic are 5w 30w or 40w ?

I tried fully synthetic in my 135,000 mile 325i and i found it burnt off much quicker than semi.
This might just be a sign of a worn engine my end, or maybe fully is a lower viscosity. Has anybody else had found this?

think i will just stick with 10w 40w semi synthetic just ordered it from cp4less . 25%off all oils

Hi i use 5w/30 semi seems to quieten down the tappets ever so slightly.
