320 Exhaust

I was looking to swap out my E30 320 OEM exhaust for a new stainless one. Wanted a nicer noise (not boy racer) so was looking at Resonated Back boxes.
Wanted to know if anyone had done this and what they got. Have quotes around £180 for the back box (£140 straight through but think this will be too noisy).
Also been looking at a custom catback system at around £460
Can anyone give me any pointers?
