E30 Zone

Hi all!

Just wondering what everyone's preferred tyre option is? I am thinking about having my cross spoke refurbed, and at the same time getting some new rubber. I have read a lot of good things about Toyo's and after having some on my daily I think they are a safe option.

Potentially looking at some Toyo Proxy T1-R in 205-50-15

Slightly lower profile than standard

Not bad at £60 a corner.

What are peoples thoughts? Any other options for around the same price? The pockets may go a little deeper for something special..

I wouldn't bother with Toyos. They wear too quick and frankly aren't all that. They were OK in the distant past when they were cheap but cost the same as everything else now. No thanks.

I really liked Vredestein Sportracs on my old E30. I think mine were Sportrac 3s - quiet, lasted ages and were excellent in the wet. Uniroyal RainSports are very good as well. Fallen ZE914s are decent and normally cheap - they wear well and the stiffer sidewall helps the E30 IMO.

i think 205/55/15 is the correct size, but anyway

conti premium contact 2 are what id get with a daily driver in 205/50/15

Same here.

Don't bother with Toyo T1-R, I've had them on mine and they produced nothing but understeer (all new suspension/correct tracking etc), I put some part worn Kumhos on (front only) and the front end grip was much better.
The T1-Rs have also worn very quick, especially the rears. That's kind of a given on an E30 I know, but I was expecting more from them.

What size tyres do you have? I can't find the CF2s in 205/55/15 anywhere.

1st of all go for the 50 profile, more choice and lowers the gearing slighty too.
I have Uniroyal Rainsport 3's and are really pleased with them.

Been there done that, many years ago. I don't need to lower the gearing at all and I think 50s look too small on the car. Much prefer my daily driver on 55 profile.

Happy with the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenaline on mine (in 205/55r15). Seem pretty decent and look to be wearing well

Each to his own mate, I have a 325i Auto and lowering the gearing helps with pick up.

Why not change the diff???

I've just bought Nankang NS2's, 205/55/15, £40 a corner.
I did read reviews on them, and for what they were going on,
a 316, so they'll do on that.

They won't fit my 15s lol

+ on the uniroyals...anyone still running the rs2's i heard they were better?

If you want a daily tyre with good initial grip, wet braking grip etc then Hankook K115 are really good

Continental are great all rounders and would be my choice TBH
