As above not 100% sure. I owned a genuine one a few years back which was Mauritious Blue but thought they only came in this colour and Calypso Red?

Can anyone correct me??

Cheers
Chris :)

Sebring Grey was a colour... never heard of Montreal Blue though.

Montreal Blue is an E36 colour.

Might just be real but the guy hasn't got a clue what he's on about, only way to tell is to check the logbook or check at your local dealer with the reg number.

Bet it's rusty under that kit to, but it's cheap enough at the mo.

Looks genuine, Macau blue is the colour he is talkin about in the advert.

Why put those horride wheels on such a nice car, m roundal badges and M stripe valance grill just look horride!.

Sorry Gareth.

You called, Sire ?

This particular car has already been mentioned in the eGay section I think. It's a genuine Motorsport edition, though it's not in the best of conditions. It's been modified, and that's one thing you don't do to a Motorsport edition, otherwise the price drops big time, as this guy will discover.

As for the Montreal Blue, well, as it's already been mentioned, it's definitely not an E30 colour, most probably E36.

This guy might be either trying to act dumb, so he can get away with a bit of bullshit, or he does not really know much.

Either way, I don't see this car going for much. Shame :surrender:

well i emailed the guy asking what his reserve is and he said Ԛ£3650. Seems a fair bit as the hood is ripped and there is a bit of rust under the light. All repairable but i reckon it will cost a fair bit.

Wasnt the blue Motorsports Mauritious Blue and not Macau? Im sure mine was Mauritious? Was deffo a gen. motorsport as well!

Found a pic as well, allbeit a poor quality one as digital cameras werent really about then!!

OK, i give up, the info available is so sketchy and diverse for these cars. I wonder if BMW UK could clear everything up.
Radback, maybe the blues i was quoted by a dealership are for what BMW UK offered as yours is a German edition.

I have never ever seen a late motorsport with an early colour.
All series 1s were on a G or a H and series 2s were on J.
Macau Blue and Sebring Grey were early colours
Maurituis Blue and Calypso Red were late colours
That was uk spec editions
So German specs probably were different
The motorsport meet should be good later on this year.

No 100% true as i've seen most mauritius blue on a H, the late ones came out in June '91, so you get quite a few h plates too.

This series 1 and 2 stuff is bullshit, I'm sorry, but have to put the facts right here.

Someone has just made that up. BMW never had this 'series' business, they just branded them as 'Motorsport edtion' because they came with M-Technic division's goodies factory fitted, as they wanted to get rid of them to bring in the E36 - simple as that.

The 1st Motorsport I saw, I almost bought it - J reg Sebring Grey ! Sadly, the old couple who owned it decided to keep it, as it was an absolute minter.

And I have seen K reg Motorsports as well.

Hope this makes things a bit more clearer.
