As per the title, does anyone have any info in regards to this 325i motorsport? Wondering if its worth a look. Does the price seem good or a tad bit high?

price seems reflective of current market levels so should easily retain its value at the very least, if its in the condition described but they have a nice selection of cars

Price is about right, that car is lovely I have seen it, if anything I think they can possibly sell this for more. I wouldn't sell mine for this amount and mine is probably not as nice as this.

So i went to see this today... lovely car from far but as you get up close you see its had a full respray and a bad one too. Various paint runs especially bad on the rear bumper. The boot lid full of filler, you can visually see the sanding marks in the paint, it might have had a spoiler at some point of its life and the filler hasnt been sanded properly so its raised abit in the right corner. The OSF wing has abit of rust at the bottom where they always go but where its been painted on the top part where it screws into the body, its been painted over the rust and rust is showing starting to come through. OSF door and OSR quarter panel has a fair bit of filler too. Look down the side of the car and you can see it rippled.

Open the boot and it smells abit moudly/damp, spare wheel well has surface rust on the sides of the well. NSR inner arch area, where the jack sits in the boot has abit of rust too. The tech kit hasnt been taken off when painting. Interior condition is good but needs a really good through clean..... Engine is good, sounds good but running abit lump at about 1200rpm. The power steering is peeing out fluid and had hardly anything in the reservoir & was running red coolant, which at the front of the engine has left residue so has been leaking previously.... the electric roof doesnt work, its been unplugged because something broke, guy didnt know what but his exact words were "oh its only a few hundred quid to fix that"..... lol sorry mate, im sure this is up for sale at 16k?! Anyway......

Overall the guy who has it is hell bent on the fact that it is a motorsport. He won't budge on price despite me showing him all of everything iv mentioned above. Apprently he can get the rust "repaired" for £100! The guy said he got it last month but then said he's had it for 4 months, he said to me someone will come buy it because it looks nice because thats how he bought it. I walked away from this as it is NOT worth the asking price..... pictures really do make it look great, but its not a 16k E30..... the search continues

P.S THE HARDTOP IS AN EXTRA £2000 ON TOP OF THE ASKING PRICE! The hardtop has a sagging roof and looks like its been sat on a floor as the on the edges the vinyl is jagged and cut

Sounds like how I imagine most of these to be. I suspect he's either reaslised he's bought a turd, or got it at a price he thought he could make a few quid on.

Yep i think he's got it quite cheap and seen a few mint examples online highly priced and thinks he can chance it... he also tried telling me motorsport cabs didnt come in Calypso red with lotus white leather..... showed him a pic and to his knowledge it was a fake. Even tho it belongs to a friend lol

To get the electric roof functioning again, say with all new motors and levers, may cost in the region of £1k?

I haven't conducted an inventory of the parts that are needed, but the main motor isn't cheap.

I might have a look on Real OEM, or perhaps someone in the know might be able to price it better?

Not too sure, whether it is the motorsports or the earlier automatic roofed cars, but they were hydro-electric, so a repair in that type might be more expensive :?

I have been looking at your car for ages! Its such a nice clean example! A beautiful car. I was ideally after a facelift car but cant seem to find anything worth the money it's advertised for.... yours is a beauty!!!!!

Well (as long as you promise to keep the originals!) you could always get de-chromed bumpers and later lights and .. boom! A mint facelift still for less than that doggy motorsport.. :thumb:

Don't be shy, come and satisfy your curiosity..
