I had a central locking fault appear the other day looked in the wiki found the fault fixed it job done...
I wouldn't have been able to restore this car and fix all its many faults without the zone.....so thanks to everyone involved and anyone who's posted answers to my stupid questions!!!!
I'm sure I've not fixed everything yet as the car seems to just like the attention and throws up another problem as soon as fix one.....

Facebook has made this place quieter, which is a good thing. The zone is ace, so much information.

I'm on m3 cutters as well and I've been selling some old m3 bits I had, (36 and 46 bits) but you post an advert, come back a day later to see any comments, your advert is now on page 3or4. Too busy for me.

I'd have never been able to change a headlight bulb let alone a restoration without the help, support and friendship from the e30 zone. Long live the zone.

Been speaking to the Modfather Steve today, we will keep zone.net running but if social media totally overtakes us, he has said that he will be able to provide the wiki for all time. Good news!

My Touring is going tomorrow, that'll be it, E30less for the first time in just over 15 years :? The Zone has been a big part of the affair too, thanks to all :thumb:

weneed to kep this place going,

social media is a pariah, leeching off places like this,

yes it's a good thing if you need a quick answer to a problem there & then, but if you have time to search on here you will (nearly) always find the answer you are looking for.

steve & the team have worked long & hard to get this place to where it is & it would be a shame if it went the same way as e30tech because of FB.

long live the loony bin!! sorry i meant e30zone.

We need to up-date .
Can we have a system where we can up-load pictures from our devices without having to use other sites?
I am a member of the e-46 zone and this happens and is a pleasure to use and I am sure it would increase the usage on the e-30 zone and enhance the overall picture of the site.
I for one would post a lot more, something to think about but, please don't leave it too long to decide admin?? we are being left behind and that is a shame but could be changed.

Mart.

I will discuss with Steve soon.

He is up to his eyes with work and a teenage family but he is happy to keep the Zone alive whilst there is demand, which there is. I personally would like to see the Zone ticking over for as long as possible.

Social media has affected forums in general, tis the way of the world but hey ho, we are still here !

Oh and keeping it French, picked up a £70 Pug 307 last night, planning on repairing it for my son.

I have the zone to thank for many years of e30 ownership.
I have been without an e30 for about two years and still log onto the zone daily.
The day i have another one can't come quick enough .

It is thanks to the hard but dedicated work of the likes of Steve and Brian that the site is alive, plus the old skool members too, naturally !

I've noticed a small resurgence on here of late, which has made me more interested. I might even put one of the E30 fleet on the road this year.....

Being able to upload pictures direct would make it easier, ive got plenty to update my threads with....

Im sure a phone app would make a huge difference but no idea about the cost/work involved

Facebook is just shit really, a mass of morons posting drivel, why the hell anyone would ask that lot for help ive no idea :D

Best answer to a question is to direct them here :D

I expect so, 7000 people looked at it! It has just this minute left my drive :( now to start buying high lift suspension, tyres and bull bars for my CRV :D

I had to face facts I just do not have the time to finish it, it's been sat for over 2 years, and my previous touring 3 years prior to that.

I recently took a look at the E30 Facebook page and I literally can't understand why anybody would use it in preference to the forum. Unless I'm missing something, there is no order to the place, or logical way of searching through things. The E30 zone is such a fantastic platform which is being left for something massively inferior!

Definitely try and keep this running if you can. I've been on here since I was 16, and I'm now 28, and have learnt a wealth of knowledge over the years.

Definitley would make me want to post more frequently...
Been on facebook a few times... some good people there that want to help but maybe just arnt qualified to do so...

Prefer the zone but find it sometimes takes days to get a response these days.. but worth the wait as its always good solid advice or help.

Some very encouraging comments spoken.

As mentioned Steve is busy with 'life' at the moment, he has given a lot of time to this platform but I WILL nag him to investigate a better photo/jpg upload.

In the meantime Gleeky, check your signature, reproducton on reproduction ! My grammar is not perfect, just trying to help buddy.

Well, I'm new here and new to the BMW scene but I have already learned a stack of stuff from members here. It would be tragic to lose it. I would also like an easier way to upload pics, I'm not much of a computer geek.
Well done to all here.

Love this place, theres no doubt it has changed over the last couple of years though, much quieter now, but its good to see the stalwarts still here. I rarely get on these days, so I'm partly responsible for the quietness.

What really makes it are the people, it would seem that the e30 tends to attract well rounded and intelligent individuals. Almost without exception, anyone i have met off here has been a good egg, while you may only dip briefly into their life, at a meet, to buy or sell a part, to fix, or to have something fixed by them, it is always a pleasurable experience. They almost always seem to be able to upload pics too 8O

There are obviously exceptions to my rule :D Stevetigger, armarnib, Alpina cab pilot boy.... a favourite of mine :D To name but a very few. They brightened the place up, and added many a funny moment.........Pacer fodder.

With the prices on the rise, and good cars getting fewer, the demographic is bound to change. But I still see the same names pop up on here which is comforting, as I'm mot planning on selling ANY e30s any time soon :thumb:

Cheddar meet anyone

I cannot get on with FB........ long live the e30zone.

I completely agree, this site is an amazing resource, far better than any I have come across with any other make or model of car. It has been absolutely invaluable for me.

After leaving the world of E30's too long ago (its been spooky to find my old user name and posts ).
Now I'm back in the fold I'd be gutted if the zone was to close , thanks to everyone who contributes and especially the mods .The cars are getting older and less in amount therefore places like this are more important to support . I haven't yet found any other site with anywhere near the information stored to ensure the model remains one of the best icons of recent motoring history .

As some of you have said already I don't think I would be where I am with my E30 today if it wasn't for this amazing forum!

One thing that always gets me is the willingness to help a complete stranger just because we share the same passion for a car!

100% needs a "refresh" in terms of uploading pics etc but I'm still happy to be here!

Thanks for all the advice and the people who have helped me in the previous years!

Long live E30 ownership and long live the Zone! :thumb:
