How heavy?

Ok I would like to know if anyone can tell me what an e30 touring she'll would weigh completely stripped?
I means doors bonnet subframes the lot!
I have a mad plan to strip my car and take the shell to the bottom of my garden to my massive workshop
I can't get the car up there whole as I live in a semi with a 1m wide path at the side but with no height restriction
I know I may sound mad but hey it's the best option for me other that a front drive resto under a gazebo maybe.., but my wife will probably leave me for someone with more class

Interesting. How you getting it back after the resto even if you can put it on its side and cart it down stripped?

Well I was gonna get everything ready to go back together and when it was I could rebuild in the front drive and use a car cover when needed
I was thinking more body work and paint in the dry and warmish workshop and also prepping subframes etc ready to just bolt on

I've lifted a completely stripped 2 door shell with 3 mates before onto a spit to give you some idea

Was it a case of all of you shitting your innards out doing it of fairly easy?
I suppose s touring weight couldn't be too much different to a 2 door as I can remove 4 doors

I know it's mental
Even I question my sanity sometimes but I can't see much more option as I don't think my neighbours would be impressed with me welding and painting a car in the front garden on Saturday and Sunday mornings

If you manage to do this we need serious pics/go pro footage.

Along with the fact this will be my first ever resto and I have never changed a geadgasket or clutch but have some mechanical skills would make an epic story of humungous proportions!
But I saw the thread with the fella who done a resto on an is who had no clue and produced a beautiful car and that inspired me
People comments are making me wonder if it's possible or I'm well out of my depth... Maybe I should leave the painting to someone else?
I could do body work and strip down in the front garden I suppose but being winter will be less frequent due to weather

You sound as crazy as me

if you want it bad enough!think it through and go for it buddy,a spit sounds the way to go,getting it in your workshop would give you the time to do what you want to it,if your clever you could make a spit your self and give you great acess to repear the shell to a great stage, people think im crazy but when they see my results they then understand why i bust my balls,iv two great cars not perfect but i did it (with the zones help, and couldnt do it without

)and there mine, even the miss's doesnt moan too much cos i built her a cabby, cost me a grand and a bit, just think it through, worlds ya oyster, good luck, and pics

Is there not a fence you could remove and re build?
You could do the same once the car is finished.
