I'm considering selling my 1986 325i Sport M-tech 1. It's in very good condition for a 30 year old car, especially being a cat C.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what they think she's worth.

Here are some photos, but all of them can be seen here -

Well done for adding pics, I've lost count how many threads pop up where people expect a valuation on a car that we cant even see.
Saying that its still difficult to say without checking the car in person.

I would think any tech 1 that is half decent and driveable is worth at least 5k. They don't come up for sale often.
If your car is not a rust bucket then it might be worth spending a few hundred, things like wheel caps, correct valve cover and general tidy up under the bonnet.
The more original you make it the more you can ask for.
The cat c doesn't help though unfortunately. The interior condition is also a huge factor as replacement seats are getting very hard to find now.

5k easily now...

Do some minor remedial work and put it on ebay with a 2k start... it'll soon go for a lot more than you think!

Excellent advice chaps. Cheers.

I think I'll do that, Get her as close to perfect as I can and then see if I have the guts to sell her!

Although, if someone was to offer me something ridiculous I half think I'd take it now just because life is hard. Money is god :(

As am I.. :P

I've actually put it up for silly money on some sites whilst I work on it and add value. If someone wants to take it for silly money now, feel free. I'm sourcing things like caps and panel repair in the coming months and will update the photo's as I go. In no rush to sell whatsoever. :D

rear arches look like they are on the way out!

The cat C might put some people off but other than that it looks nice!

I'd love to add it to my collection for the right price winkeye

They could do with some work 8O repairable I think..

I really am open to offers, the right offers of course. Although I would be breaking the rules if I was officially selling in this thread

A tricky one as I can see some major issues with it just sat on the sofa - the bonnet to wings gaps are horrendous - the Cat C was a decent front end bang? Add the serious rust that WILL be found once you start digging and whilst it's undoubtedly useable, it's still a project in need of a lot of work and £££. And after all that, it's a recorded 150'000 mile example and will never be worth that much.

Not 5k I'm afraid - closer to £2500-3000. No, I'm not trying to buy it. :D

Thanks Andy, I think your spot on.

And I've had it three years or so now. Picked her up from Essex.
